It's 1am as I'm writing this post, and I'm mostly just trying to vent while I ask for some advice on my dogs health. Any advice is appreciated. Also, sorry for the lengthy post.
My mastiff woke me up this morning to go outside, and when I took her out, I noticed she had diarrhea. A couple hours later, I fed her breakfast, which she ate normally. The rest of the day, I took her outside every couple of hours, sometimes less, so she could relieve herself. As the day went on, her diarrhea got more watery. I initially intended to feed her a bland diet with pumpkin to see if it would help, but around 8pm, she vomitted up a lot of kibble. After another 2 times of her vomiting, we decided to call a vet clinic that was 24 hours, as ours was closed by now.
They said it was best we bring her in, so we did. They did an exam, and ran some tests, and gave her a shot of something to stop the vomiting. They sent us home with some anti-vomiting pills and antibiotics. As we were leaving, she had another round of diarrhea in their waiting room, which I informed them there was a little bit of blood in it. They said they'd clean it up and sent us on our way.
From the time we got home, she laid on her bed and wouldn't move. At all. Nothing I did would get her to get up. When I took her outside, I had to push her up. We were told to wait 2 hours from the time she got her injections to feed her, so a little after two hours, I attempted to feed her about a quarter of what she normally eats. She wouldn't touch it. The few pieces I got her to lick up, she spat back out. I then attempted to give her some water, and she had no interest in that either.
Now it's after 1am, and I'm stress eating, and making random noises at my dog to wake her up every once in awhile cause I'm worried. We agreed to wait until morning, then call the vet again to see what they say if she still has not ate or had anything to drink by then.
The only other thing worth mentioning is that the vet thinks she's like this because of the antibiotics she was on for her UTI a week ago.
Any advice is appreciated, again. Anything to encourage her eating or to drink something. I already read some ideas on her from similiar posts, so I will look into trying those as well. Thank you.
