CC exercising

Hello again. Trying to keep my 5 month CC fit, i make him run a bit every day(not too long). I also used to play tug of war with him, but she is no longer interested at it or anything else that she would chew. Any ideas? What other method could i use for exercising her?

5 months old may be a little too young for a lot of running and jumping. I believe mastiffs should kinda take it easy on the running and jumping until about 8-10 months.

Play mentally challenging games with her. Hide and seek is a great one with yourself and with her toys/treats. Freeze her treats in an ice cube.

Play fetch with her and teach her to bring it back with you.

As she gets older, running is very good exercise. Some owners have a flirt pole to exercise their dogs.

Longs walks are great bonding times with your pup.

Put her treats/kibble into a Kong that she has figure out how to get them.

OB training is good mental exercise.

That's all I can think of at this time. I'm sure others will hit the post.

Thanks a lot for the help. Tried the kong toys but didnt excite her. I ve already mastered leash training and basic obediene very easily. I am trying to teach her fetch but im having a hard time... haha!
I got the ice cube suggestion from a friend of mine as well. Think i ll give it a try!!!

I'm looking for suggestions too....we walk a mile off lead (I have 160 acres) which takes us down a few hills, through the woods, to a pond and then back up a hill, in addition to playing with our other dogs a good portion of the day... yet he still seems to have boundless puppy energy, which I love, but OMG the chewing!! He's eaten my shoes, the edges of my wooden table, the dining room table/2 chairs and a section of bed post.
And in case you are wondering, he is an angel when I'm around, he will occasionally put his mouth on something and then look at me, catch my eye, and put his head back down...this occurs when I go to the restroom, answer my phone and walk away or do anything other than having him glued to my side when he's inside with me. I would say it's separation anxiety, but I swear he looks delighted when I come back and see what he did. Luckily I never hit, the most he's gotten is scruffed and growled at when I catch him in the act, which is why he no longer does it when I'm around. <goober>

My other dogs have all benifited from road work but he's still too young and I would worry it would hurt his joints, yet I'd love to find a way to keep him occupied. Other than peanut butter/kong, pigs ears or the knuckle bones he really doesn't care to chew on much or play unless it's a fuzzy toy and I'm attached to the end.

Any other idea's how I can tire this kid out?

KP, I think you should refer to a couple of the flirt pole threads. Sounds like your pup needs a little more mental stimulation. I often play keep away, find it or hide & seek with Duchess. Just 10 minutes of placing her in a sit & making her stay while I go hide, wears her out enough to nap for a few hours if not longer.

I tried the flirt pole but she kept going after the rope or pole instead lol. I did tie a ball to a rope and that worked better, maybe the pole itself was distracting to her. Also fetch she loves
