Cane corso puppy ears 5 months

Hi guys, just had a quick question about my puppies ears He just turned 5 months today, one of his ears stand and the other one stands occasionally, his ears are taped up again. Are the ears just strengthening? He doesn't have an extremely short crop as I didn't prefer that. So I guess my question is asking. How long do ears take to stand, or does it pretty much just vary by the puppy? Thanks for your responses guys!

Ears will flop over a bit when teething starts at 4 months. This is normal. However depending on the length of crop that could make a difference. I will send a pic of my puppy at 4 months... are his ears longer than this? Sorry they are flipped

They seem like their trying to stand, but one side seems like its not as strong yet, they aren't flopping over any ways, I'm looking through my phone for pictures and I cant find any good ones. I would say their about the same size as your puppies crops. I put tape on them and they got swollen for a bit. So I took him to the vet to have him professionally taped and he seems to be using them very well inside the tape. When they got swollen they were flopped down, not over his head, but over the side of his head... (If that makes sense?) When the swelling went down his ear was not flopped over like that, and now that hes taped he seems to be getting much better control of his ear. Thank you for your response!! I'm also not aware how the ears are really suppose to stay haha. I've never had a dog with cropped ears, so I'm not quite sure of the expressions in which they use their ears, and in the pictures their always standing alert haha. Thanks again

Their ears should stand straight up whether they are alert or not. About 98% of properly cropped ears will stand on their own.
And during teething stages you will notice a bit of flopping and they will most likely flop in... like onto the top of the head a bit.
No prob :) I was always worried about Angus' ears too. After talking to my breeder I wasn't as worried. It takes a bit for the cartilage to build strength.

So I should stop worrying haha? When it comes to my dog, I seriously worry bout everything little thing and stress about it haha. I need to just let it do its thing!

I'm having trouble finding a pic as an example.
How long ago was the crop done? As that will make a difference too.
I understand 100% the worrying lol I worry about all three of mine non stop lol

I think his were done later actually, the breeder is a very responsible breeder and did not want to let his puppy go to just anybody. The breeder has been so helpful and is on top of it 100%. I got the dog at 4.5 months, the ears were done like 6 weeks ago. The guys been extremely helpful and the puppy is absolutely gorgeous and a monster, around 70 pounds now. So the ears were probably done at about 13 weeks.

Sounds like you don't have to worry. If your breeder is on top of it I would not let it bother me :)

Hey update on Capone! He got his tape off a little bit today because it was falling off and it was perfect! After only 3 days they were standing so much more you could see the difference and his ears looked more like muscles as opposed to be all flopping haha! Thank you for the help!
