D'Argo is way more aggravating during TM mating season than Athena was.

If somebody with a large car makes it to my house before it's over, they can have him.

He's not really bothering her. He's just so... I don't know. He doesn't know what to do with himself. He keeps whining at me. He wants to sniff everything on walks. A lot.

I just realized today that was probably why he's been extra pain-in-the-ass-y lately.

I had Apollo in the vets today, and as we're waiting for the vet I hear (yet another) person and dog go by. Nothing unusual about that, except THIS TIME Apollo whipped around, and started sniffing, and whining, and pawing at the door, and whining, and sniffing, and pawing at the door handle, and whining, and sniffing and drooling....and when we were done he put his nose down and tried to follow a scent right on out the door....

I didn't ask, but I figure its a fairly safe assumption they had a bitch in standing in heat through....he was kind enough to try marking at the exit door while we were waiting to pay the bill....

D'Argo hasn't started lifting his leg yet. So, that's good.

Do other breeds come into season at random times? I can't remember what my GSD was like before we got her spayed. My poor brain. I think it's just broken.

Its common in spring and fall, if you notice there have been multiple people posting lately about dogs in heat lol, including 2 bitches I have here, but for the most that is the norm but it also depends on the dog, mine didnt have their first heat till around 18 months, which was about 6 months ago heats. Some only have one heat per year

Similar here. Hades has been howling and whinging and trying to break through the big farm gate we have over the drive. Zeus is just a bit 'panty' and unsettled. So I figured there was a bitch in season somewhere in the area. Probably doesn't help that there is a boarding kennels and rescue about half a mile away, sigh!

It is definitely in the air. Ruger started whining, licking his lips, "puffing himself up" and going crazy at one side of the fence yesterday so there is a girl in heat somewhere. Lucky for me, I don't have the bitch so we are fine for the most part once we go inside.
