My 2 "puppies" are now about 1 1/2 yrs old. Got them about a month apart, one EM and one rescue Dobie/Lab mix. Do you have any idea how much damage/mess 2 bored puppies can make when you leave them for just a couple hours? How much time it takes for training, walking, playing? Have you been to Dog Shame or Destruction. Please re-think this before you leap into it. Get a cat who is friendly with dogs. Hire someone to come over and play with your puppy while you are at work. They ate my kitchen floor with all of us here "watching" them, I have wood sub-floor in front of my sink! I have holes in my yard you can bury a small auto in! Just a reality check here. I hate the thought of anyone getting a second dog for a playmate then six months later giving both away due to damages. http://dog-shame.com/

Eh everyone's going to have different experiences. I've done three puppies at once and then two at once several times thru fostering. It really depends on how much time and supervision you have to offer. Puppies need short bursts of training everyday. With two puppies you need the time to train each of them separately. It's also possible that they may bond more to each other than to your family. When one regresses with house breaking, chances are the other will too. Is it doable? Yes but you need to be prepared. Not to mention two puppies means twice as much at the vet between immunizations, heartworm prevention, flea and tick prevention and eventually spaying and neutering.

Thankyou all for your replies, for starters he hates cats as i have one already but she stays out of his way, yep i have loads of time and my puppy goes to the woods daily, parks, round long lakes, he goes allover, its mainly for zeus and i have a very large kennel built properly for zeus with a big run on, it has electricity for his lights and for his heater in the winter, hes my baby and gets spoilt rotten! i can only offer him one more thing which is a friend :)

Sounds about like what Duchess can do by herself! She's pretty destructive right now.
