I don't have many stories yet as tomorrow will make 3 weeks that I've had Vedi but she has successfully locked me outside twice this week. She likes to go out with me and if I don't take her she will jump up on the sliding door and knock the lock down I guess. Oh boy I can't wait to see what's coming in the future

I'm not sure what kind of stories you are looking for, but I have a general observation about my CC and the things he does. He's super intelligent, learns new things after only a couple of tries, and is always watching me do stuff around the house, as if trying to figure out how things are done. He's learned to open the door from the backyard into the house on his own. The first time it happened I thought that maybe I didn't shut it properly but since then he's opened it a dozen of times. And he always acts like he's so proud of this accomplishment, running into the house wagging his tail, with a look on his face like "what? you didn't really think I was going to stay out by myself for long?" lol. He also likes to close the door that leads down to the basement, I keep it ajar for our two cats to go in and out when they want. I guess he does not approve. lol. Opening and closing doors must be a CC thing. Also, when it's time for his walk and I am doing something on the computer, he will come up and with his nose will close the lid on my Macbook, haha, telling me that he's ready to go now. ;)

Here is a link to a story I've already shared: Cane Corso Encounters a Loose Pit Bull!

My Corso also opens and shuts doors! I thought it was a fluke the first time but after 100 I realized she can actually do it! lol

As far as stories, anything anyone wants to share. Such as, funny things their corso has done, a good deed they've done, something crazy, etc. Anything to just share the fun and joy our corsos bring us!

I will have to sit down and think back over the years to see what I can remember. The naughty stories always stick out but will see if I can put down on paper that I remember.

I have one, and my " MiLo" also appears to have an interest in doors.

At about 12-13 weeks old, I came home from work and took MiLo out for a pee break. This was about 11:45 PM , we live in a suburban neighborhood w/ 1+acre lots. Milo has 2 friends across the street " Gizzy & Lucy "...
So he is always been familiar with our neighbors property. Never the less ... at 11:45 I walk out into the garage and open the 2 bay door, MiLo goes racing out into the driveway and starts barking like crazy at something, I walk out , look over across the street and it appears that a teenager was over by my neighbors parked car...
At 1st I thought what is this ? the burglar had walked fast , then slowly down the driveway and I just let Milo keep barking at him... while I gave him the " stink eye "... as he proceeded down the street. It took me a few seconds to realize trhat it wasn't kids cutting through the yards... ( my son & his friends all drive now ) so no one should have been over in my neighbors property. I watched the kid get in his car and then me & MiLo got in ours and I followed him until I got his liscence plate.

Told the nieghbor what had happened and they called the cops, had the issue addressed . It seems that our Cane Corso was doing his job at a very young age. !!!
Very Pleased...
It was a teenager trying to break into my neighbors parked car in their driveway... and it was a neighborhood kid that got caught.

Good Job Milo !

Hope this story is good enough .

They are super smart. I accidentally trained my puppy Rhaegar to bring me money, lol. I knew from the beginning that I never wanted to be that owner that has to chase their puppy around trying to take away something they're not supposed to have while the puppy thinks it's the best game ever. So from day one, we've always had treats stashed everywhere around the house where I spend a lot of time (nightstand, side tables, etc). Anytime he ever picked up something not his, we'd give him the drop it command and have really close access to treat him. He figured out that this doesn't work with his toys, so sometimes he'll go find something on the floor that shouldn't be there and bring it to me so I can tell him "drop it" and he gets his treat. My boyfriend has a really annoying habit of keeping money in his pockets and never in his wallet, so of course it frequently falls out. The first time Rhaegar brought me a dollar bill, I must have laughed a lot or made a bigger deal out of it, or something, because he definitely remembers, lol. He now actively seeks out any dollar bills on the floor (or even on the nightstands, which he never bothers for anything else) and always proudly brings it to me (never to Kerry). He even found a dollar in a parking lot and picked it up for me. I think we're up to twelve dollars, lol.

Yesterday during our walk, Sacci picked up a pine cone and carried for quite a while. Then she and my daughter made up a little game where Sacci would drop the pine cone and April would pick it up and give it back to her. It happened several times before April said, "Dang! She's just like a human toddler and thinks this is fun!" As soon as we hit the back yard, Sacci dropped the cone and lost interest.

She also "collects" sticks and trash from around the yard and drops it all in the same place by the back porch. My husband and I joke that she is cleaning the yard for us.

Last week I took her to her first football game. She seemed to enjoy it, and everyone enjoyed seeing her! She got so many compliments on her beauty and her manners!

The last positive thing I'll share tonight is Sacci has been my inspiration the past two months. After I found out I had thyroid cancer, she gave me comfort, hope, and a reason to get up every morning. She has truly been a blessing!!

These are awesome, especially enjoyed hearing about Corso's opening doors. After Vedi has locked me out twice, she now jumps up on the front door and tries to open it. She hasn't quite figured it out yet and she's just turning 5 months tomorrow so I have no doubt that as she grows and gets taller she'll be able to open it.

Wendy that is so sweet to hear about sacci, dogs are so inspirational and really do make a difference in our lives. I've dealt with some unrelated issues which my pups make life and days so much better. My heart goes out to you and I wish you the best. Sacci sounds wonderful and i'm sure will continue being the greatest companion for you!

That is awesome! I love it! lol. Knowing my Luther, he would eat it... he loves paper. We can't leave any mail on the table, because he will take it. Not too long ago, I found him shredding one of my credit card bills before I even had a chance to look at it. And today he chewed up a print out of something I needed. LOL. But it's no big deal, since he does not destroy other things around the house, I allow him to be my paper shredder. This in turn makes me keep a tidy house. ;)

Thanks!

I've never had a companion dog, just outside "working" dogs, so I never understood before the special bond. I always thought dog lovers were a little off. now I completely understand! Sacci is the best thing that could have happened at this point in my life. I've only had her 3 months, but it seems like she's always been with me and I can't imagine life without her!

Corso's have a way of winning you over, they're the best! Sounds like it was meant to be and I know how easy it is to get attached to them so quickly!

Love your avatar... that is what happens in my house. Paper, boxes, socks, sticks, leaves anything wood... they love it ( JIMO ).
I sometime wonder who is running the house....

My wife called me at work tonight and said that Moose's addiction had reached a new level and he needs counseling. He is nine months old and 110 lbs of puppy. A couple of months ago he got a taste for socks. My socks, my wifes socks, and the kids socks. Whenever he sees the opportunity he grabs socks and swallows them. Most of the time we can get the sock away from him. Other times they come out the other end. Earlier today I watched him push open my night stand door and pull out a drawer and grab a sock. That blew my mind until my wife called me. My six year old son was on the couch and Moose put his paw on my sons lap to hold him while he pulled the kid's sock right off of his foot. I about pissed myself when she told me this.

My megafauna does cool stuff every day that makes me smile, I'll have to write down some of it so I remember and not just laugh at the naughty stuff. He's hardly ever naughty and thinking of him like that isn't fair to him. He won't even chase wallabies or livestock when we're on walks, he just points so I know they're around and waits for my response

He knows he is entitled to a high level of care. Any time something happens to him that needs attention he'll come straight to me and give me the stare. This morning he was out the back mucking round while I slept in, and he came in and gave me the stare until I noticed he was limping. Back leg swollen at the knee joint. Hot. For a few minutes I was worried about snake bite- we have a lot of venomous snakes here, I checked it thoroughly and observed him for an hour. No symptoms, no sign of bone breakages, just swelling. It cooled down after a couple of hours, so he must have come to see me as soon as it happened, and after +12 hrs he's walking fine again

If something needs doing, or I've forgotten something, he'll sit close and give me the stare until I work out what's wrong. If I forget to take the house keys with me on a walk, he'll hesitate near the door until I work out what's missing and fix it. If I can't work out what needs doing, I just run through a list. If his ears react really strongly, then I know I've hit the jackpot. And no, the default stimulii isn't food, it's usually exactly the thing I need to attend to. Obviously there are some nights when I need to be told that a blanket may be necessary later, for example

If he's being very vague or slightly stubborn I call him Goldfish, for his 3 second memory. It cracks up all the neighbours, me walking off down the paddock calling out " Goldfish... Goldfish..." and having a big hairy dog come trotting up.

Aren't they the best fun? I never thought you could have this much fun with a huge puppy around. The best breed ever
