Gandalf Is 7 months next week and as grown real fast, he's lean and active, iv read some of you give glucosamine tabs that are for humans, iv got some ordered should be here in the morning, what mg tabs do you use, gandalf is on a growth spurt and is a bit stiff, he's going vets on Monday to be checked over and weighed, thanks in advance for your advice.

For Hector, vet advised at least 2000 mg of glucosamine a day. He's around 125-130lbs.

i would start with 1000 mg then after 2 weeks increase to 2000 and stay on 2000 for 3 months then give him a break for a month then restart again and so on.

But see Hector had the abnormal bone near the bottom of his spine so that's why the vet advised that. I don't know how it differs from your situation. I'll ask the vet next week about big dogs and glucosamine and see what he says.

My swissy is on 1,000 2x a day (so 2,000 total /day) and she is 108lbs but has stiffness (she is 8). I would always ask your vet though for dosage. You should be able to just call and ask the reception to check with the doctor. People do it all the time at my work.
