Advice for prospective EM owners

I am Sooo sorry, that was totally my fault! When Rae had to cancel and it was just the three of us I offered my yard for some off leash. I'll admit I totally forgot about this thread and was just looking at the folks in the play date thread. My bad, won't happen again. Next time at the park for sure!

No big deal. Honestly, I should have confirmed, and it was literally just down the street. Jenn and I are looking forward to seeing the mastiffs in two weeks. If everything goes as planned, we will fly to Florida to pick up our new puppy from a reputable breeder on December 8th. But before we commit, we want to interact with some OEMs. Jenn is a little concerned about bringing such a big dog into our house... And naturally, I'm concerned about her concern. From everything I've read, the OEM will be perfect for us.

I'm going to reconfirm with the vet about Duchess missing another play date. If she absolutely has to then I just might come out dogless! :)

I know a TX breeder who does all the testing and shows her breeding dogs, but sells her puppies to mostly pet homes. I think she's in West Texas. Might check her out. One of the most ethical EM folks I know. www.oasismastiffs.com, she can refer you onto other reputable breeders even if you don't end up going with her. I know she usually has a waiting list.

Also wanted to comment that the link posted above about breeder referrals is legitimate, that is the website for the Mastiff club of america.

Thanks for posting that!! I may contact her regarding my next pup. It won't be for a while & I'd love to have an EM that's more true to standard. Her dogs are gorgeous.
