A Kahlua Stories and Photos Wednesday

She sometimes decides she would like to lounge on the bed (the human bed) and have some snuggle sleepy time. She goes to the bedroom door and just sits or stands there staring at it, suddenly unable to hear or see anything else. I ignore these requests unless I have already told her "bedroom?"
But, despite my steadfast authority Kahlua still thinks she owns my soul....

Just look at this look she gives me as she uses Diesel for a pillow while lounging on our bed.

That look definitely says "I own your soul". ^^^^ You see it right?

Kahlua is just so expressive and has so much attitude in general. Everybody who meets her instantly falls in love. She, however, takes after me and prefers not to meet every stranger we come across. She is polite but she won't greet some people at all, won't let them pet her (she backs up away from them if they reach without asking and we respect that and allow it). She is quietly cautious and suspicious of strangers.

This is the look she usually gives strangers who try to pet her.

If she hasn't decided yet and might give them a chance she does this... She will sniff their hand and approach them if petting is going to be okay.

It is funny how in public or around strangers she can be this extremely serious and stoic dog. Because at home alone with us she is not the slightest bit serious. But you would never guess that if you met her in public.

so I don't have the counterpart goofy photos from home quite yet. I have been on a mission to capture some of her goofier antics and she is so darn fast it is proving a little tricky. So for now the stories must suffice.

At home her latest favorite thing to do is leap over Diesel in the backyard.... while he is standing. She literally runs and leaps over him... back and forth and back and forth. She can jump soooo high! I am starting to think I adopted a kangaroo/billy goat hybrid instead of a puppy.

So my main mission is to capture her leaping over Diesel in video... She will be doing it over and over and the moment I pull out my phone she stops.

She also loves to chew on him. She chews on his legs and lately has started chewing on his mouth. He chews back so it looks like the are french kissing with each of them chewing on the others mouth... I don't allow any of this chewing but I am forever catching them and stopping them.

And when she isn't making crazy leaps in the yard or trying to chew on Diesel she wants to be snuggling. Snuggled up to me, snuggled up to Diesel, snuggled up to Sean, snuggled up to BrrBeary. Any of us or all of us all the time. Oh and licking. She loves licking my face. I have to be very careful because if I am not paying attention I will be talking and suddenly find Kahlua tongue in my mouth. Yuck!

Also I am curious if Boxergirl can tell me if the amazing leaping and jumping skills is a boxer thing. I have never seen a dog that could leap so high. :)

Oh yeah. Every single boxer I've had has been made with springs. It's ridiculous. Climbing and perching is a thing too. That distrustful look is also pretty common.

Boxergirl - Love the photos! How on earth did you catch him mid-air? That is a tough one! :)
Kahlua also loves to climb. And she is always hopping up on the bench and standing there.

Kahlua would have great fun with my boys, especially Roy. She's such a pretty girl. I keep coming back to look at her.
