Did he get the watermelon for Drago or did Drago decide it was for him? I love all these pics but I'm also the type to look past the cute factor and wonder what's going on. Here's my take, just my opinion and based purely on what I see. One, Drago shouldn't be allowed to get his feet all up on the counter. Second (and this wouldn't happen if he knew counter surfing was a bad idea) he shouldn't be eating anything off of the counter. Lastly, that would be a good time to correct it instead of taking pics. So, all that being said, if you allowed him to do all those things then don't mind me Great pics.
Hahaha. I actually had the same thought because I'm a stickler about taking things off the counter, but I figured it was the OP's business since they obviously didn't have a problem with it. I also knew you wouldn't be able to resist. Lol. Season, in my house you'd be NFS. My kids were know to call me NFM and my husband was NFD (he still is sometimes). No Fun Mom, No Fun Dad, and you'd be No Fun Season. Lol. We also have a NMS box for things that aren't put back where they belong. Not My Shit box. My kids are adults now. It used to be the Not My Stuff box. It worked great! Every morning the NMS box was emptied into the trash. It's amazing how quickly things got/get put away. I won't even tell you about the laundry and my daughter going to school in a smelly uniform. NFM.
Drago's mom, my Ella has a thing for tomatoes and broccoli. If I'm picking from the garden and put them on the ground instead of in the bucket, she eats them. She knows that the ground around the garden is usually a free for all. Ripe tomatoes only. Green tomatoes are not good for them.
My kids at school give me a hard time about being a stickler. But their parents always thank me because it's carried over to them at home.
Yes!Oh, I agree. I babysat for years because I needed to be home and available to give my daughters insulin shots at school on short notice (they had no school nurse). I heard a few times that the kids were "allowed to do that at home." Great. Do it at home. They tried once at my house and never again. I always told the people that said I was too strict that the kids will do what you expect of them and what you allow, so set your goals high. If you expect great things, you usually get them. I was also considered the fun mom. Go figure. A strict but fun and involved mom - and not a helicopter parent. To this day my honorary kids, those I watched and my girls' friends, call me Mom and I get texts on Mother's Day and if they're having a crisis of whatever kind. Rules, imo, show love. I can't tell you how many times my girls heard, "If I didn't love you, I wouldn't care what you did." The same rules apply to my dogs. Kids and dogs are really remarkably similar to train. Lol.
Ugh, I"m still waging that war. If I put the scat mat up there she wont jump up, if it isn't there she will go surfing. The last victim was my ipad screen.I had flashbacks of Lillie's counter surfing days, which I hate to admit were very, very recent and barely count as flashbacks...God she was terrible! I finally got a scat mat and she was shocked (see what I did there?) that getting up on the counter was no longer fun. I have lots of videos of her electrifying experience, because I just couldn't resist. She is the type of dog that doesn't even need a reason to look at what might be on the counter. She will go running into the kitchen first thing in the morning and jump straight up there just to see what MIGHT be up there. She'll get papers, food, a cup, whatever - she doesn't discriminate. But after she got a bunch of grapes that my daughter had forgotten to put away and I had to induce vomiting because I didn't know how many she actually ate, I decided it was really time to do something about it.Anyway, it IS funny Drogo wanted the watermelon!
Yeah, they are not easily fooled... At one point she figured out to put her feet flat against the front of the counter and reach her head over the mat and then she finally got pissed off enough to grab the plastic end box thingy in her mouth and pull the whole thing down. What finally worked was her moments of hesitation in jumping up and using those to reward. The correction part stopped coming from me, because frankly she didn't care, and because she wouldn't hesitate if I wasn't in site...Ugh, I"m still waging that war. If I put the scat mat up there she wont jump up, if it isn't there she will go surfing. The last victim was my ipad screen.
It would have been fun to take the watermelon out side to see if he could crack it.
Or less! :lolbangtable:It was just rediculous that my year old dog literally cannot be out of sight for 5 minutes.Sent from my LG-H811 using Tapatalk
