Hi my name is Sean and I live in Australia.

I have my 8 month old female dogue de bordeaux named Peach.

She weighs 24.6 kg and i am curious if she is small for her age?
I see other peoples dogues at this age and they are massive
compared to my girl. She is being fed Canidae grain free dry kibble morning and night with a chicken carcuss thrown in at dinner time.

Any help would greatly be appriciated.

Hi Sean, I'm not too sure about DDBS there are plenty of people on here who can help, I just want to say she is so so cute!! What a lovely looking pup!

Hmm. That's about 54 pounds, which may be a tad small, but who knows? The most important thing is her body condition, not too lean, not too big. To me she looks at a good weight. :)

My Dogue was about 80+ pounds at 8 months of age, but he is a male. At full growth he is a healthy 140 pounds.

One thing I have noticed is that there seems to be a large difference between the males and the females in this breed. The males get to be pretty large, while the females stay smaller and petite...by a lot. Some female DDBs I have met are 80+ pounds, at a year, year and a half...

That may just be my experience, though.

She is adorable, by the way!

Welcome, your DDB is gorgeous as is your Rottie.

Female DDB's can be smaller than male DDB's but as NYDDB stated, be more concerned with body condition than body weight. Where does she fall on the body condition chart?

looked at some stats and 27kg now she could easily get over 40 kg or around 45Kg as a full grown adult which is acceptable and within standards. anyway she is very cute so i would not worry about her size
