Cane Corso dad

Hi I have a 8 month old cane Corso who has a small reductible umbilical hernia the vet had advised me that it could be left untreated but also said that to get the operation would cut the risks of complications further in life. She also advised me not to breed from her as in her opinion it is hereditary and to spayed her at the same time if I decide to fixed the hernia. When I asked the breeder and they said there is no history in the bloodline ( they have had dad's bloodline for 3 generations and multiple litters and mum for two again multiple litters). They also stated that mum could over attentive with pups and my pups umbilical cord was bit very close to the stomach. Apart from this she is a big healthy strong girl with a very gentle and affectionate temperament who loves children and all other animals and I feel it would be a shame to not breed her, I was thinking to wait til I have her hip and elbow scores done before making a breeding decision anyway but would like to know if the hernia when fixed would be a risk factor for her when pregnant, as much as I'd love to produce puppy's from her she is my main priority and would never want to put her in a avoidable situation were her health or life could be in danger. I'd love to get the opinion of a seasoned breeder who has knowledge of these situations as I do feel as if the vet is no a fan of breeding dogs and I know that my sound weird to say! Anyway any info would be greatly appreciated!!
