6 month Bullmastiff baby with lymphoma..is it possible?

Hello everyone...
My name is Katerina and i am the owner of a 6 months baby girl Bullmastiff named Liba. 2 months ago she started sneezing and had a terrible running nose. Vet told me to give her antibiotics for a few days and see what happens. 10 days later i came home after work and she was with 41 fever (normal is 38 in European measurements).
We rushed to the vet and we did a blood work, and an abdomen ultrasound. She also experienced heavy breathing. Blood results were very bad. 27,9 hematocrit (normal 38) and 19.000 platelets, (normal 400.000).
Plus she had blood in her lungs and swollen lymph nodes. We started treatment with haemostatics and antibiotics and cortisone.
At the time we thought it was ehrlichia ( a blood disease we have in South Europe from a tick bite). She got better, no running nose...no fever. then suddenly, she wakes up one morning with a terrible swollen gland (like a golf ball), fever again and running nose once more. Back to the vet...blood exams...nothing has changed (27,9 hematocrit which means heavy anaemia and her platelets have gone up to 45.000 when she should have at least 150.000. All glands are swollen. Yesterday we took tissue from her glands and now i am waiting for the results. Vet wont exclude cancer and he says that is very likely. I cant believe that a 6 month old puppy has cancer. Has anyone heard such thing before...I am devastated.

I'm so sorry to hear about your pup's illness. Yes, puppies can get cancer. Please let us know what the biopsy results show.

I hope you and your family find peace during this time.

OI. I certainly hope it is "just" a nasty infection....

Please let us know what you find out.

Sending healing thoughts to you and Liba!!

hello everyone and thanks for your concern.
We got the results today. Thank God is not cancer BUT no one seems to know what is wrong with Liba.
She still has everyday fever....still with anaimia and still all her glands are swollen. 3 different vets and cant figure it out. I am almost desperate.....relieved about the cancer but stressed because she is on different kind of antibiotics for almost 2 months now...she is being poked with needles since she was 4 months...and no one can give me an answer. Today we draw some more blood for further exams. We are looking at her kidneys and liver function plus one more test , something about if she has the correct amount of a certain protein or something like that. One of our vets, who is totally against barf gave me a very strict lecture today...
He is not ruling out that maybe all this has to do with barf...
I am lost....any ideas????

Good to hear that it is not cancer! :)

Most vets are against raw diet because they do not understand it. Show your vet videos posted on youtube by Dr. Karen Becker (3 videos) that explain the raw diet.

I hope they find diagnosis for Liba soon. I'm so sorry that you and Liba are going through all of the tests.

Please keep us posted.
