3 year old mastiff with allergies & need food recommendations please

We have a 230 pound English Mastiff named Sheppy. He's always had allergies (chicken, eggs, wheat, gluten) and I've tried desperately to find a dog food brand that works for him. He's on Blue Buffalo Wilderness (Salmon) now but he's still itching/scratching (however much less than any other dog food we've tried him on.) I hate that the kibble is so small. He makes a MESS. But really I just need to find a simple dog food that will work well for him and preferably one that I can buy at a place like PetsMart, etc. He goes through a lot of food and buying at specialty shops can be tricky. Any recommendations? The $50-$60 price range is usually what we end up paying.

He can't do chicken, red meat, corn or wheat. He's done best on carrots/salmon mix.

Have you tried Earthborn Holistic Grain Free, either Coastal Catch or Meadow Feast. BLue Buffalo still has grains which could be causing the skin allergies. What else is he fed? I can no longer feed Titan plain yogurt or raw chicken because his skin allergies came back.

No, I haven't tried Earthbone, Coastal Catch or Meadow Feast. I'll check them out tomorrow - thank you! A few years back Sheppy lost a small patch of hair but we haven't seen any skin allergies since. He doesn't get raw chicken because he just ends up itching and gnawing at his feet.

I would think the salmon based food would have plenty of Omega 3's... but you might consider adding some fresh fish oil (capsules or from the pump jar), or some people have good luck with coconut oil. Denna is raw fed (no chicken, no grain), but if I forget to add 2 salmon oil pills to her daily meals, she starts to get itchies, too. I get the wild AK salmon oil capsules from Costco.

Keep us posted on Sheppy's progress. Remember to do a slow transition to the new food, if you change his food.
