I think the roach back and hip set might not be because of his problems , I've had dogs with that conformation that didn't have any problems .....I've yet to see one with that conformation that moves well though ........... looks like his left leg bothers him ...... i'd worry more about the cruciate than the hips ........ I've seen some severely dysplastic hips , djd , last a ddb 6-7yrs ...... I've seen extremely loose hips remain decent looking and last a ddb 10-12yrs with proper exercise .... does he have to do stairs ??? it's ashame about the cruciate , the ones I've seen heal up on their own required a long period of rest .... and I believe the hd requires as much low impact exercise as the dog is capable of ....personally i'd walk him on flat even surfaces ....... teaching him to swim would be a good form of exercise ......I have an 8 yr old dogue that hurt her shoulder a year ago , the vet told me to give her a supplement called phycox , she is a really large ddb , and it seems to be working for her .....good luck , hope it works out for him .....
