I need some ideas...he will NOT come down

Leo went up in the kids playhouse a couple hours ago with the other dogs... who can go up and down with ease. Now the big stubborn beast will not go down the stairs. He is scared. He wants to jump down the rock wall part but that is almost 5 ft off the ground. I don't want a broken leg or dislocated sholder, ect. soI won't let him. I have it blocked off with two 2x4s. I have tried luring him down with cheese, hamburgers, his favorite ball. I put his leash on and tried pulling him down. Even tried it with food. He will ignore the food if I go for the leash. I don't know what else to try. Any ideas?

I know it's not an opportune time, but can we get a picture so we know what you're dealing with?

Oh no. That is awful...Poor fella is probably scared to death. The things these dogs get themselves into. Please keep us updated. I wish I had some advice for you.

He has now gone UP another level. The one with his head sticking out is Rocco. Leo is in the 3rd level.

I'm sorry... I'm trying not to laugh. :) I think you both need to go down the slide. Have him lay down right in front of it and you'll probably have to drag him out and keep him steady down it.
That's my idea anyway.

Try standing at the bottom of the slide dancing and singing. Make it fun. Be silly and bouncy. This is how I taught my dogs to go down stairs.

I have tried getting him down the slide. I even tried to make him back down it when I was pulling. He figured out not to pull like that. Tried pulling him down the slide with his leash...he just dug in. I haven't tried getting behind him and pushing him down with me.
I guess I will try that next. Thanks. Wish me luck.

Go ahead and laugh...I would be if it wasn't me. I know I will be later...after I manage to get his big butt down.

Might think about getting some more light out there so you both can see better.

Good luck!

I hope it works! Please let us know! I know with Tess, if i pull her she digs in, all comes down to motivation.

Darn it...can't use the slide because he is on 3rd level and is too scared to get down. He cries when I try to pull him down and digs in. Unforunstly he is bigger and a lot heavier than me. My hubby is out of town at the moment so it is just me and my two kids. Who have tried to no avail to coax him down.

He is not motivated by anything right now. Not even food. He ignored hamburger and cheese.

Ok, I'm laughing, trying not to, but I'm laughing....

IF you blocked off all the ways out is he likely to come to harm if he spends the night? And if he did manage to get out overnight would he be able to get out of the yard? I know you'd probly worry all night, but it might be easier to deal with in the morning, and he might be more willing to follow the food.....

WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got him down and got a huge workout in the process. Holy crap was that hard. I am gonna be SO sore in the morning.

I got up on the 3rd level with him (yay for being child size..lol) and pushed with my body. Damn did he fight me but eventually I won and managed to push him down to 2nd level. He tried REALLY hard to get thru the boards. I tried backing him down to the first level by pulling his back feet and putting them on the steps but the lil turd held on with his front paws and pulled himself back up. So gave up on that. So I tried the earlier tactic of pushing with my body and after forever managed to get his feet and body on the slide and pushed him down. He dug in so he went down fairly controlled..thankfully.
