Who has a English mastiff that can tell me about how the drooling is...

After picking my em up today from the breeders let me say I am amazed at how far and high they can fling their drool. One of her dogs managed to get it on the ceiling when I was there. lol Tips on training them to wipe their mouth? I would love to teach her that. LMAO beach towel

Mine didn't drool that bad in the begining. Then around 1 year her jowels kept growing longer. Now she drools double what she did before. I am thinking I need to train her to wipe her mouth and mop the floor afterwards. Any tips on the mopping?

Now that its winter here in Ontario, I'm just loving the droolcicles!!!!!
I do have to add I had to give up my crocs due to the slipping factor. I've done the splits a few times and then realized drool+crocs=possible broken hip. LMAO

I have a 3 1/2 year old EM that I've had for about a week. He doesn't really drool unless it's after he eats or drinks. Otherwise it's really not that bad! The first day we had him he went to town on the water dish, there was a river in our kitchen!! But when he drinks we have drool towels ready, haha!

We call our towel, the rag of shame. Everytime we get it out my female ddb runs for the hills and tries to find something to wipe the drool off and hides her face. It is the funniest thing in the world to us. (My grandma finds it the second most disturbing thing about our mastiffs, the first being their bark that causes her to have panic attacks :( )

My Em boy, Cruiser is now 10 months and still no drooling! He drips a bit after drinking but has a towel on a bar hanging over his bowl and wipes his face (sort of) after he drinks.

Not as bad as we expected we have a 8mo old em he is well over 100lbs and only drools when waiting to be fed playing actively and after drinking I do not require a tea towel in my pocket at all times and find it is quite manageable.

My last mastiff and my current mastiff don't really drool. My last mastiff very rarely. My current lad drools once in a while when playing really intensely. Now my father's mastiff drools a lot (and he has a St Bernard who also drools a lot imagine). He has drool towels and does have to clean if off the walls. Now who's the bigger offender, I'd say Olaf (the St Bernard) than Boris (the mastiff).

My EM puppy is only 4 months old and I havent seen any drool yet. My brother has 3 EM and I only see them drool after eating/drinking or after a walk. The male seems to drool more than the females

I am happy to report that my current pup at 11 months has yet to start drooling! Fingers crossed that he never does! It would be a first for us, all of our boys were heavy droolers and professional slingers!

This can be a one word or short answer. Can you tell me how the drooling is with you English mastiff? I am sure it will vary but just want to know about your particular EM.

I will answer in 4 words " They drool a lot " We call them "Stalactites "

Hahahah. I love these posts. "Slinging" evidence is great. We have a two yesr old EM we just gout on Thursday. Her mouth is like a waterfall after she drinks. Have to wipe it all the time. Or if she's panting from exercise. Never during sleeping though.

[Edit]
She foes snore like a beast, i meant to add. I've never heard anything like it.
