What's the weather like where you live?

It's so hot here...gasp! I'm so confused. The last two weeks of August were cool...way to cool and wet, and now, I'm boiling alive, and it's going to continue for at least a week. Oh my....I love my central air...I'd die without it. Is this what they mean by global warming? Usually we hit Labour Day and it's like a switch being thrown, days become cool and bright and nights become much cooler and good for sleeping with the windows open.

I'm blessed to be so far inland that Hurricanes have no impact and too high up, 823 ft above sea level to have any significant flooding, but....tornadoes? Yikes, they have massively increased, not only in number but in ferocity. It's like Mother Nature is giving humans the one-two punch. I never used to watch the skies for funnel clouds, but I do now.

The summer was insanely hot, dry and smokey. About a week ago Mother Nature turned off the heater and the highs dropped over 20C. It has been attempting to rain and even the mist falling that is just enough to make things wet is more than we had in the entire summer. Thankfully the risk of most natural disasters here is miniscule as only a grass fire or tornado (extremely rare still) can affect the city because even though there is a large river bisecting it over 90% is on top of the coulees.

So, news says we hit 32 Celsius today....our ordinary this time of year is 20C. And with the humidity (trapped between two great lakes) it was more like 39C at it's height. So, not hot enough to fry an egg, but hot enough to make me hide inside and beg off walking the dog. Well, they are saying by next week, it will feel like 16C. Hell's Bells, from needing shade to needing sun. Will these oscillations ever settle down? I'm feeling a bit psychiatric from the huge sways from one extreme to the other. And, I've given up predicting what the winter will be like. Last year it was mild...my mums over-wintered, which is unheard of...but I let them stay and now I'm reaping that harvest of colour. This year even the trees are confused...some full of cones, some with almost no cones....it's a toss up which way the winds will blow or how hard.

Hot! It's been around 85-90 (30-32 C). It did rain a little bit last week, even though it was still warm. We barely have seasons here. I don't think I'd be able to hang with such large variances in weather from week to week like you have!

Last week we had our first reasonable temperatures in awhile. The weather was in the seventies and it was wonderful. This week we will be back up in the nineties and I am dreading it. I am so over the heat. Bring on the fall. Please. :)

It's stupid hot here. The entire last week was in the 90s, some days upper 90s. This is Indiana, for cripes sake. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the low to mid 70s. That means I can finally finish painting my deck.

Ya this heat has been terrible everywhere I think. Today we are suppose to hit 89 and back into the nineties tomorrow. It's almost October! Where is my crisp beautiful fall day?

Well, we've been breaking records here and, I 'm sick of winning this game. Take a look...

TEMPERATURE HISTORY SEP 26.

Today High 31° Low of 17°
Normal 19° Low of 8°

Previous Record 9/26/2016 29° (1998)

Last year on Sept 26 it was 18° with low of 10°

Previous Record Low -1° (1947)

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to challenge 1947's low, but I could stand with a little more of last year's normal temps.

Here too. It's ridiculous. Then it's supposed to get very warm again. My poor pond fish are so confused.

At least someone was enjoying themselves. Jiggers demanded a walk and then threw a fit because Kryten came too.

SNOW! EEK! Oh, no. Today was a beautiful fall day...absolutely perfect, so....no trades. Sorry, Smokeycat...I'm snow adverse. I hibernate and complain non-stop when winter really hits, of course, it's hard to hear me from underneath all my comforters. I know...I didn't inherit that Canadian gene...blame it on my English/Irish heritage.
