Hello! I’m a new cane corso owner and recently got my “WP” DNA tests back and was just curious what were the breeds the modern day corso were bred with to revive the breed ?

The DNA test didn't tell of your dogs make up ? I've given thought to having a DNA test done but if it doesn't tell me what's in her make up % wise I guess we just continue loving our un known mutt..

The DNA test is probably worth doing if you're curious about your dog's ancestry. I remember another CC owner did that and posted his results. I think it included Mastiff, Neapolitan Mastiff, and Boxer. He questioned whether he had a pure CC, but it all made sense to me because all those breeds were used to make the CC. I think the Boxer inclusion is most interesting. Some CC breeders claim their line is most pure and doesn't include Boxer. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing the Boxer in there because they have excellent working temperaments, but others would rather not see it.

Nothing revived the breed. So what if it has neo and boxer and ''mastiff'' in it (''Mastiff'' is slightly different but not really... requires a bit of explaining), all of them originate from the same pool of dogs and are the same thing. It's like crossing a german shorthaired pointer with a german wirehaired pointer. Soooo, you have a pointer.

I tried for a while to learn about the makeup of the Corso, but it's too unclear to me. So, I have decided to simply find a breeder who produces dogs I like the look of, and hopefully does health testing, and the breeder will communicate with me, and doesn't engage in the silly overpricing you see today. I'm not going to be too concerned if the dog has Boxer, or Dane, in it. As long as it has a solid temperament – stable, good courage and defense drive, and biddability. But that's just me. I know I haven't done much to answer your question.

I got my dog from Ironstone Cane Corso in Maryland he talks a lot with people overseas and has some quality dogs shipped here. He has a Facebook and Instagram.
here’s a video of my Corso at 15 months almost 16.
