    Hi everybody:
Picked up 2 new puppies last month. I was wondering what everyone else recommends for TM pups?

Welcome aboard~ WOW, 2 puppies! How old are they? Can you post pics of the pups? Are they your first TMs?

Generally, mastiffs are allergic to grain and chicken found in kibble. You can check www.dogfoodadvisor.com for dog food ratings and customer feedback. Mastiff puppies should eat Large Breed adult food or All Stage food because puppy food has too much calcium causes fast growth. Slow and steady growth for a healthy mastiff. Protein in the food is not an issue unless the pup has kidney issues.

Check out Acana Regionals, Wellness Core, Castor & Pollux Grain Free, Earthborn Holistics, Fromm*s, Innova Natures Table, Victor*s Grain Free or Taste of the Wild grain free. Chewy.com is a great place to order dog food and they offer free shipping on orders over $49.

You may want to check out the raw diet for your pup. Raw diet can be fed to young pups. Check out the sub forum on raw diet that has a wealth of information. It is not recommended to feed the pup kibble (one with grains) and raw food. Do your research re: raw diet and form your own opinion.

Has anyone tried Honest Kitchen with their dogs? I know it is really pricey. But my girl refuses to eat kibble.

Your dog will eat kibble. The reason he doesn't is probably because he's been given the option not to. No dog will starve themselves.

I have a very stubborn TM. I have starved her for two days before, and I know she is hungry. I put kibble in front of her and she still won't eat it. Instead She would rather eat grass and rocks out in the yard. I have to keep a close eye on her when I starve her.

My pups really like Earthborn holistic meadow feast and they were not eating a lot of kibble previously

It's not starving her believe me me. Once she realizes this is her only option she'll eat. Otherwise they are training you.

I have never tried Honest Kitchen before. I have an older dog who started not eating her kibble. I started mixing Tripett green tripe in it and she loves it. She's been eating really well again. It also has helped me get my puppy to eat twice a day on a schedule.

Tm's do not eat that much...they are picky especially before spay/nut and in the summer they can go days without eating. After my girls first heat she had a false pregnancy and ate very little for 6 weeks..lost 20lbs. When that ended she did gain it back very slowly and now that she is 2.5 years old she is her expected weight (120lbs). She was picky up till she got spayed...its normal for TMs not be chow hounds. Feed her everyday and pick it up when she doesn't eat and try again tomorrow (Don't leave it out). I don't know kibbles as I feed raw but I am sure she will eat sooner or later, I tried orjens before. Also, I never had the rock problem but teach her to leave rocks...it is very bad for the belly.
