Weird eating habits

Is it a TM thing?

This morning, there was 3 slices of tiger bread on the kitchen counter, now instead of nicking all of them like a normal dog he nicks 1 brings it in the living room, eats it, then goes back for more :D

He eats the middle first then the crust

Also he hates food touching his paws (raw or cooked) so always eats with paws spread and food in the middle which is quite funny to watch!

Also an up to date photo.

Apollo will do the one thing at a time too lol. Arty (not a mastiff) will steal as many as he can fit in his mouth, stash them, and then go back for more, but not Apollo lol. Apollo does one at a time, it can be quite funny to watch.

Hm, Apollo tends to do that with his food too, but he WILL occasionally hold larger pieces down with one paw.....

Hi there handsome!

Mine eats one at a time too which I think is part of the reason she doesn't really eat out of bowl like a normal dog even if it is just a bite of raw meat with no bone. She takes one piece at a time to her carpet.

She uses her hand when chewing bullies etc. When she is eating total raw meat though such as a chicken quarter or turkey neck she will not touch her paws on it really. All chewing up in the air while lying down.

Nothing to add about Mooshi on the eating front other than she can be a bugger to get to eat anything at all sometimes, but that is a TM thing. Cal is a real cutie!

Well, glad to hear our EM Denna's not the only one who won't touch her raw food!
I give her big pieces, hoping she'll hold it down and rip and tear into it... but no... she stands there (tail tucked under her), chewing in mid-air trying to gnaw a piece off... or at least maul it enough that she can swallow it whole.

So far, she hasn't nicked anything off the counter (thank goodness!).

I agree with Mooshi - Cal is very cute!

Believe it or not like like raw mackerel even if it is frozen (I hear a lot of dogs don't like fish but she did not get this memo). She also seemed to like to eat the lamb though it is more costly.
She is not the best eater and at times will skip days. She will eat her chicken quarters and green tripe etc. Her biggest issue is her organ and boneless meat mixed. I know she needs to eat them but she will take 2 days to eat it and therefore gets less than she is suppose to because I wait her out and feed it to her till she is done. She is not underweight though she is 8 months and 85lbs and healthy so waiting her out so she does not get more fussy is what I do.

That's funny...eats in the middle of the bread and then the crust. Titan eats one thing at a time, as well. He usually places the boned meat out of the bowl onto the ground and eats the other meat. He then returns to the boned meat.

Titan also skips a day of eating which is norm for the summer. Yesterday he didn't eat at all except for a turkey bacon treat. I gave him that so he would not throw up bile which he does when he doesn't eat.

Today he ate his normal 2 lbs of food + some eggs.
