Weight pulling

Hi! I don't know if anyone remembers me, I was very active a couple years ago My Neapolitan/Bullmastiff Branka is now 3 years old and I'm interested in trying her in weight pulling. Who in here competes? I also recently moved to the Houston area, anyone else around here interested in starting with me? I've found a Malamute group and an APBT group but that's it... No all breed groups that I can find...

Hm, the IWPA has events in Austin and Marshall, neither of which is close to you.

The UKC has weight pull as an official event, checking their pages it looks like there's a club in Forth Worth, A group in Huntsville. The Huntsville group looks like the closest of the groups, though still not close.

I do highly recommend that you either spend the time getting experienced in the sport yourself, before starting a club, or find someone experienced to work with your club that you start. Doing weight pull wrong can injure the dogs. Have you contacted the breed based clubs to see if they'd let you train with them?

We've never actually competed but have done some up here in NY.

I have contacted both so we'll see if I can work with one of them for now. The apbt group seems open to it...
