I'm going to make them harnesses to secure them into the back of the truck as well I plan on putting them in the bed with a cap on and securing them to the d rings at the front of the bed.

Thanks for the link.

Welcome! She's got all kinds of harness instructions on there, its very handy.

You might look at the zipline restraint systems too, they're designed for truck beds actually, though I use one for Arty in my Caliber.

I wish I was that resourceful when it came to making things, lol. Though I did bookmark the link as well for future references.

Being an odd-sized child I learned to sew in self defence. I got tired of to long pant legs and sleaves...which meant that sewing denim meant that I had to have a reasonably sturdy sewing machine, which means that I can sew some reasonably heavy duty stuff including webbing. Plus I have issues with spending $100 every couple months cause the dog outgrew the custom harness again....the hard part was finding a webbing supplier who'd sell me webbing by the foot for a decent price!

Ruthcatrin - I don't think Apollo even knew he was pulling something! lol I so want to do this Venti!! I haven't been able to make it out to the local weight pulls yet, but hopefully soon. I've been looking at WP harnesses for venti, but probably wont buy something until he's 160-170 ish lbs. Who knows if he will even like it. He seems to pull me pretty well though. lol.

The local club may very well have generic sized harneses you can use while you're there. Ours did, they're not perfect, but for light weight practice they're fine.

And yah, he was very oblvious to it! He wasn't showing signs of even noticing something was there till he got closer to the 600lb mark, which we didn't get to till he was 9months or so.
