Thought I would post an update on our agility progression. Black Jack is loving it, we are both having a good time when I am not screwing him up. Lol, so this is from the end of class when he is starting to slow down enough that I am not running behind him yelling out the next piece of equipment lol. I do screw him up at the end here, total handler error  I don't take him back far enough out of the second tunnel to give him the room he needs for the A Frame. We are both learning but I have to admit I screw him up more then he does lol. Any how, any agility folks here that want to give advise I am happy to hear it. Awesome job :cheerleader3:

The only thing i can see is you stopped at the a-frame and pointed , trust your boy, when he comes out of the tunnel you should have pointed at the a-frame and give the word for it as soon as he came out and kept running and im no expert but have done agility before and that tunnel and a-frame are pretty tight, not much room so i would have been more in front of the tunnel instead of at the side, like you said, so that when he was almost out of the tunnel he would be looking at you for the next cue. Its hard to remember where you should be when the adrenaline is pumping and your trying to be a few steps in front of the dog. Looks like black jack loves it, i miss doing dog sports :( , keep up the good work!!

Love it! I think you are doing a great job and it looks like you are having a blast as is BJ, and that is all that matters.

@ Mountain Fila, you are right. I didn't actually even think about the fact that I stopped, just that my placement was bad. He loves the A Frame as well so I just figured I didn't give him enough room :) Thanks. Yes we do have a blast doing it, I have a lot to learn and yes Black Jack is forgiving lol. Slowly but surely it is coming along.

Just keep it going Cody. Show all that Corsos Can DO! Just takes a tiny bit more effort.
Oh we intend to :D Lol, I am actually switching to a new facility in the summer. I love the people that we are with, but the new place they are all judges and is more geared towards eventual competition. Have also been working on getting equipment to practice at home, working on weaves and jumps. I have to say we are completely hooked!

Cool!

You make me want to take Denna to agility... she does love jumping.
She had a kiddie tunnel as a puppy, and loved it, too... until she chewed it up and dragged the pieces all over the yard. :)

WOW what a great job you two are doing! Definitely makes me want to see if Dexter shows any interest in these agility tracks once we're through our obedience training of course.

How did you introduce Black Jack into agility training? Did you have any activities or pieces at home that you used to start him off on the concept?

No, actually. I just started with him this past Feb :) We started out with an intro class and he LOVED it so I decided to keep going. We have gotten a great response from the teachers, they seem to believe that he could do very well in trials when we are ready so... Will give it a shot. I do take him to play grounds when they are empty, always have, and we play on the equipment a little. That helps with some things I believe. He never hesitated with any of the equipment at the beginning. Now at times he has his issues with the teeter, but he still will do it. Just doesn't like taking the last step before it slams down so he tends to stop right there lol. I say go for it! It is a blast

Cody, as long as you and the handsome devil BJ have fun, I don't think messing up counts :D

You're doing an awesome job, as we can easily see on BJ!! :)
