Athena is still awesome.

She keeps us safe from all the evil cardboard boxes she finds, and has made it her mission in life to find the moles in the yard no matter how deep they burrow.

Also, she's entering a barky stage in her life. Yay!

She's been losing her puppy teeth and I think her puppy coat as well. I haven't taken her in to get weighd in a while. Maybe I'll do that this afternoon.

I do need to work with her on her small children manners. She *loves* kids. One of my friends has a four year old that thinks it's great fun to act like a puppy and play on the floor with Athena. That one kid doesn't mind getting flopped on and trampled but I'm assuming that won't be universal among all children so I have to put Athena on a leash when she's here.

Other than that, no worrisome behaviors have popped up. But I'm expecting them. :p

Does anyone understand the sideways/ upside-down picture issue? It drives me nuts.

no idea on the pic problem, are you uploading from your phone maybe? I've noticed my phone can do weird things to picture orientation sometimes.

Oh. I forgot to mention that my puppy still drools excessively when she's in the car. We got her a Thundershirt but mostly we use it to wipe her face after we take it off.

Is there a chance she will get better or is this just something she's always going to hate at this point?

She may get better in time and sometimes it just takes a little longer for some than others. Bear used to puke in the car so count yourself lucky! He's good now though and LOVES car rides because they all end up at really fun places for him, and that includes the vet. he is in love with his vet, he gets so excited he pee's himself! Big Bad Akita my arse!

Apollo HATED car rides till he was about 6 or 7 months. He got horribly car sick, though ginger and rescue remedy helped to keep it down to excessive drooling, and getting him in the car was not fun for either of us. I kept working on making the car as fun as possible. I'd sit in the car in the driveway with all the doors open reading, with treats he liked next to me and him on a long lead and he got a treat for coming a little closer and a little closer, and also taking him down to the nearby park, and my inlaws to play with their dogs (ie: fun trips).

Then at about the 6 or 7 month mark he suddenly decided cars weren't that bad, and now he LOVES going for a car ride.

He's so pretty.

A friend of mine in High School had two Akitas. They were beautiful but they attacked another friend who was visiting their house once. She had met the dogs before so she wasn't a complete stranger.

It was horrible. She was just sitting in a chair and one of the dogs grabbed her arm and throat. The mother of my friend who owned the dogs was all, "I told you to keep them locked up when people were here!!"

if you sending it form your phone make sure u change the rotation if you have a smart phone go to your gallery n pick your picture than go to your menu page n u should find edit options
if you have the pictures on your pc/labtop its the same idea find your pc/labtop gallery or app click on the picture and should but a edit tap or icon or left for menus it depends on what your using

and never take pic from your phone when it upside down lol
