  • Welcome back!

We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.

Toys your dogs ACTUALLY play with.

Mostly I've made misshapen granny square blankets for understanding friends...and only ever took pictures of one in progress...but the dogs won't be discerning...I hope.

So I went out and bought the 10" Jolly Ball. Two actually, from Tractor Supply, while we were there getting Hank and Roxy shots. They were on sale for $13. When we went to go get in line for shots, the neighbors with 2 of their mastiffs were there also lol. So we had 4 EM's Hank (dad), Martha (mom), Jack (son), and Roxy (mistress). That's when people started a 2nd line... The pet the EM's line lol.

This is what happened when we got home. Lots of fun!

Thanks for all the ideas! Keep em coming. They have rope toys but Hank isn't interested. Roxy though, I could pull her to Hell and back and she'd be happy to hang on for the ride lol. I'm going to have to try some tuggers, Hank likes to tug but I think maybe dislikes the knots in the ropes. I'm not sure.

That doesn't look bad. Granny squares take a lot of time and yarn!! I've only ever made a baby blanket out of them.

Lots of fun! Your dogs might be interested in the teaser ball. It's hard plastic.

Pet Supplies : Pet Toy Balls : Jolly Pets 10-Inch Teaser Ball, Blue : Amazon.com

Firehose tugs are suppose to be pretty strong too. You can usually get them for $10 each from private sellers.

Awesome! I especially love the donut! I'll have to check Ravelry for a pattern. I have loads of bits of yarn from this and that. Of course Tali will want me to fill them with cheese...but no, no, no.

I really like the donut one too. They all usually have squeakers or squawkers in them. unnamed.jpg

Volleyballs, Soccer balls, Basketballs..... Etc. if it's left lying around it lasts 20 seconds before its ripped to shreds!! But he loves playing with them after they're deflated too. Maybe because he knows he wasn't supposed to touch it and he likes being an asshole. We'll never really know.

Hank does love popping basketballs, and eating them piece by piece. I usually confiscate them when they start getting consumed. Anything with a squeaker is off limits. Hank whines and cries constantly when squishing them, not sure if its fun for him or if he's upset.

The crochet balls. Are they essentially one big huge knot? Do they last very long? IF they are worth the effort I might honestly try it. Hank, hank , hank... He's the pickie one. Roxy not old enough to get eccentric yet I guess.

I think it looks great!

Thanks! It was kind of an mess, but it works and was made with love for a nephew.

Glad to see the Jolly ball was a hit! Hanks seems much softer than Tali's, which she has learn to fling around the yard for herself too!

My girls like the jolly ball for about 15 mins. They love small water bottles and milk jugs. They also like the antlers but fight over them too much so only get them in their crates. They love stuffed kongs but don't care much if there's not stuff in them.

Is the jolly ball an indoor-friendly toy too? I'm afraid of it getting swung around by the little handle and breaking things indoors, which is why I've held off on getting one despite the great reviews.

Jolly balls, Hector's Crochet Toys, un-stuffed plushies (she spends too much time destuffing ones with stuffing), Busy Buddy and Kongs (with treats inside), and ROPES - especially if there's someone holding the other end. :)

She loves the crocheted toys so much, she took one to bed with her. :)
We got ours from Hector 2 years ago.. and they're still going strong! (And the squeakers still work - almost TOO well!)

Give Lila a good homemade tug toy and she's a happy camper! (Sorry, no pic of Lila and tug. I can't tug and snap photos simultaneously.)

Jolly Ball hands down - horse variety from a farm store (but not an inside toy) Angus can sling his more than half way across our acre fenced back yard. He LOVES it and will play by himself for up to an hour. Inside toys (other than boxes and plastic ice tea bottles that he destroys) antlers, Kong Ball, any of the plushies with Tough Gaurd that we've purchased at Costco. Even playing tug war with them not even the seams have have popped - anything else has been "repaired" multiple times with button twist thread until there is no fabric left. Best tug toy is a homemade braided rope made from old fleece pj's - no matter how hard he goes at it hasn't destroyed it - was great when he was teething to soak in water in then freeze - he chewed through too many towels to count during that time.

We use the size right under the house size of jolly ball for inside. I plan to get a horse one when we move for outside.

Ok, guess we'll have to wait a little longer on getting the horse Jolly Ball. Seems it is the biggest crowd pleaser here!

Iymala, is your indoor Jolly Ball the 6" or 8" size?
