Top U.S. Boerbel Breeders

QY10, Echo is related to my Boy. Rayden and Tori I believe is Echo's grandparents. Rayden is my boys father. Raydar and Tigra I believe is Echo's parents and Raydar and Panzer are half siblings. I think that is the jist of things ha ha.

Cool! Confusing, but cool haha! Echo has been bred to Centurion Bhodisattvah (I think that is how you spell his name). No word yet on if the AI took. Should know pretty soon.

Prima should also be going into heat soon. I cannot remember who she is expected to be bred with as I kind of have my heart on Echo. She just seems like my type of girl when it comes to a dog and I think her pups would fit in nicely with our family and lifestyle.

Thanks Mike! They look like very good reads just from the titles.

Right now with the small amount of Boerboels in the world you will find that many of them are related within just a couple generations or less. At first glance it may seem that there are a lot of these dogs but in reality not so much yet.

This thread was very enlightening. I've been researching BB breeders, but now I think I'm doing it all wrong!

I really loved the Spitsvurr line, and I'm surprised that it was spoken against, which is making me question everything since most of the breeders I have been watching use their stock. I live in South Central PA, about 15 minutes from Gettysburg, 1 hour from Baltimore. I was looking at Breeders that were in driving distance (8hrs or less). I was looking at Darkwater (which I see was spoken of well here), Mid Atlantic (although their dogs are a bit stockier than I like), Buckeye (not exactly within my driving timeframe) and Terry Allen, when they got iPod, I thought "that's it, that's what I want my BB to look like" even though I realize his coloring wasn't desirable to the breed. Since then, I've just kinda sat back and watched and stalk facebook pages and websites. I could care less what color dog I get, the personality and breeder quality is way more important to me, and I will also need to make sure the breeder pairs me with the right pup, I don't even really want to say "that's the one I want" because having had two litters of puppies myself in the past I was really able to see that there are SIGNIFICANT differences from one puppy to the next in the same litter. I need a dog that is more calm, submissive, serious but playful. I would never be able to pick out the "right" puppy for me from just pictures or one meeting....

Anyway....

I had even considered importing from SA but now I'm just not sure. It seems like the more "informed" I get, the more I start to question and doubt everything I've learned.

Another BB breeder I haven't seen much on..... Mount Royal Boerboels.... I know the owner/breeder is a vet, and apparently they have a Maryland and Tennessee location...but something just seems....off. I don't even know what, I just feel like something isn't right there. Anyone have experience with Mount Royal? Since they are relatively close to me, I'd like to decide whether or not to cross them off my list of potential breeders.
Thanks!

Bunch of breeders just dropped a litter of pups, Fuller, Darkwater and a couple others. I have pups too but no paperwork on them.

Spitsvuur could not give me a dog that I would keep. A couple others you mention seem to raise red flags in my mind but I just don't feel like going back and researching again. Ever since the SABBS thing happened i have just given up on all the orgs. Just get a dog that has parents with a good background, avoid the designer colors and the giants and you should be good.

I would never get a dog from Spitsvuur. Also, iPod's elbows were scored very poorly and probably should not have ever been bred for that reason alone. iPod has since passed away, but I believe that Revelation Boerboels has frozen semen if you're really set on getting a pup from iPod...

I think Centurian has puppies, but I don't know if they are all spoken for or not.

Thanks guys. Yeah I didn't know that about iPod until reading it here in the forums. I'm not dead set on his offspring. To be honest at this point l could care less what name the pup I get comes from or what color it is...I'm more interested in knowing about genetics ( to avoid health issues) and temperament than anything else. I'm not looking for a pup right this second, but probably within the next year. I'm teetering between a bullmastiff and boerboel but prefer the BB. It's just a matter of getting my hands on one. I'll have an easier time finding a BM where I'm at. I live right near Gettysburg PA and there's several BM breeders and hardly any BB breeders nearby.
