Not sure how you went with this? I have heard That one way of being able to collect a urine sample from a dog is to attach a ziplock type bag to the area I assume with a gentle tape and hope that they will pee with it attached... Hope you have managed to wuss it out by now. Look forward to hearing some news!

Just hold a bowl under them, or a long handled ladle if thats easier

Get a catch pan from your vet. We have to take samples from Ally often to check for kidney problems(she's a diabetic). Then transfer it into an airtight container or ziploc bag. In fact you might want to soak a cotton cloth then put that into a ziploc. It would ship easier.
Ruth I don't think Ruby's due for a few months, but I'll keep it in mind when she goes.
