If you expect her to go into heat in the next month, or if she is in heat: would you be willing to collect urine and do an all over scent rub of your bitch and send it to me? I'm totally willing to pay any costs involved....

Apollo is scheduled for his pre-breeding bloodwork and sperm count mid-Sept, and I've been repeatedly warned that since he's a virgin stud he may require a teaser bitch....problem, I don't know anyone local with an intact bitch. I've shot off a few emails to local clubs to see if they'd be willing to pass the word for me, but since I'm not a member of any of them I don't have high hopes. Theres also a product called Eau d' Estrus that I'm looking into, but I believe in being thurough and covering all my bases.....

(at this point I've been asked to not make any announcements about the proposed breedings so that the bitch owners can do so themselves on their schedules, once I can I will!)

The good news is Augest/Sept is when Singers go into heat, so if nothing else I may get lucky there (lol!!) but yah, the fun part of owning a stud dog!

All over scent rub: take a cheap cotten cloth and do a body rub, including privates

What I do if I have to collect a urine sample is take them out on a leash and just shove a bowl under them, other folks use a spare ladle. Not all dogs will tolerate it.....

I doubt I'd need alot of urine, but later in the heat cycle is better than earlier, so if she just started bleeding this week or last week, wait a week or so please.

I'll see what I can do but I make no guarantee's. My girl is a little weird, she likes her privacy when doing her business. She won't go on the short grass (lawn) on the farm, she goes off into the tall grass and weeds where I can't see her to do her business

Ruth, I was thinking...with duchess being spayed not quite a month ago would she put off any type of scent? She actually was in heat still when she was spayed even though I thought she was done. She was at the 4th or 5th week post bleeding I believe.

Raechie, maybe, but probly not, between the normal end of season and the spay, and if you've given her a bath since then its really unlikely.
