We decided to spruce things up and fix some things under the hood. If you notice any issues, feel free to contact us as we're sure there are a few things here or there that we might have missed in our upgrade.
Do TM's have a sensitivity to ticks? Just found one on Cal just above the eyebrow and where it's attached it's self is quite swollen or is it purely where it is that's causing the swelling?
Donno that they're overly sensitive. ThE couple times Apollo's picked up ticks he's always had a fairly large bump afterwards that takes time to fade. As long as you get the head when you remove it, and the bite doesn't get infected it'll fade. My vet said it wasn't unusual.
I've used a spot on and I'm waiting for it to drop off now as I've lost my tick remover.... Typical..... I've ordered another one so depending on what happens first lol I've also given him an antihistamine and have lathered it in aloe, but was just curious as I've never seen that reaction before.
Thanks for the reassurance
I would think it looks worse because of where it's located.
If you got a big bite on your arm or thigh it'd not look near as bad as on your face where there's less of a layer over the bone.
Any swelling in an area around the eyes is gonna be more profound-there's not much between skin & bone to absorb the swelling & spread it out.
I swear ticks have an obsession for long coated dogs. I fight this battle with my yorkie mix all the time & my friend's old English sheepdog constantly has them. Check into a preventic collar. They worked wonders for me.
