Hi everyone, I have an almost 2 year old Tibetan Mastiff called Archie who is extremely stubborn and has hypothyroidism which is a bit of a challenge with his low energy/laziness!! He is our lovely giant cuddly boy and we love him to bits!!IMG_1930.jpg20140308_130646.jpg20140308_125800.jpg

We live in Australia and he loves going to the beach and playing in the sand, but he hates the water! I love how his coat is designed to be snow proof but also works well to be sand proof too - by the time we get home, his coat is dry and the sand has all dropped off!

Archie is very well socialised and just loves playing with all of his friends at doggy day care where he goes one day a week. He is a very gentle giant and he spends time in the small dog area where the little ones think he is fantastic and climb all over him like he's a jungle gym or something!

Thanks for letting me join this forum, being the owner of a Tibetan Mastiff is a great privilege but is also very challenging and there are many questions I still have and advice I still need on this very unique/stubborn breed!

Thanks, it is certainly great fun watching him frolic in the sand!

We have worked extremely hard with socialising him and I think this is the main reason why he has a great temperament. Although, we are still working on him when he "guards" our house when anyone he doesn't know turns up!
