My dog Orso is a Mastiff mix of some kind. For the last year we believed him to be French , But then a few days ago a friend sent me some pictures of Tibetan Mastiff's and several of the pictures we found looked very much like him except the shorter hair! So I was curious as to what some of the members who actually have a TM think?
Ill try and post photos below of him at different ages. But he is about 100 lbs. His mom was 50lbs and a Lab Terrier Mix. 2 of the Puppy she had were like mine, and I took the largest of the bunch. This boy is Lazy! Very very lovey dovey and thinks he is a lapdog. If I call him to me, say while sitting. He will hop onto the couch almost like a horse would. He gallops instead of running. He is very intelligent and remembers things he did hours before. He loved rolling on his back and cheesing! If not on his back on his tummy with his paws extended out in front of him and crossed and his back legs stretched all the way back out. Also he thrives in winter, and has to be kept inside all summer in a heavily air conditioned room. Part of which I think is due to his extremely thick fur!
Im very curious as to what this guy is, and what I can do to keep him mentally stimulated? He seems to prefer to be outside, but is always happy to be in as well. He is really protective of his area and will hop in the air if he see's anyone near his area. But is so gentle with the smaller Dogs and Cats in the home, and thinks he has to be a big brother/Daddy to the new puppy!
To give you some Size prospective, that cat is 15lbs lmao. And Im 5'8, and he can stand on his hind legs and put his paws on my shoulder! Any guesses guys?
