They Pushed A Pitbull Ban Through In Montreal Canada

This has been going back and forth for a while now.

There has been a lot of resistance to this ban, with even the SPCA, getting in on it.

Yet still they pushed it through....

So now all these poor, mostly sweet innocent dogs who happen to be in shelters will probably end up being killed, because they are, or happen to resemble Pitties..... And all owners with Pitties, aggressive or not (mostly not), will have to follow these very rigid strictures and restrictions.

So sad.... and what's going to be the next breed on the hit list?

Oh no! They pushed it through? I know the spca was fighting it and I had hopes they would win.
It is so terrible. Every pit I have ever met has been so very sweet and as you say the restrictions are always against any dog that "resembles" pitties. And most people are idiots. They think all sorts of dogs "resemble" pitties.

Almost every breed I happen to love is on that potential hit list. I swear there are some people out there who think that only tiny dogs should be allowed. Ugh.

It's not even just 'pit bulls' that are affected by these new rules. There are regulations stating that ALL dogs over 20kg are only permitted to be walked on a harness or halter.

Not every Pittie I have met has been a sweetie, but most truly are wonderful, intelligent dogs.

Many are not really dog dogs, and prefer people. Some have dog aggression issues, but very few have people aggression problems, and those have usually been trained in that direction.

It truly is a shame, because soon all of us will have to be carrying our Shihtzu/Bichon pups in special bags to the dog park.....
