Sunny started Monday night with a low fever, the next day she started a cough or gagging until she threw up a bit of foam. Tuesday night her fever went up, more hacking .... I gave her something to bring the fever down, Wednesday she seem better in the morning..... by evening her fever was back.... and by this time I'm out of town on business that I couldn't cancel....Percy my husband gave her something to control the fever.... she seems to get better. Then this morning he said she was hacking again till she threw up her breakfasts.... I'm not returning to home till later tonight.....once I get home if she's fevered again or still ...I'll be taking her to vet emergency hospital.

We use aspirin 1/4 dose for an infant.... I got home tonight, she seemed to be a bit better until she seen me...then with the excitement she started hacking coughing gagging thing again. Her fever is down now. Of course she didn't eat for my husband, normal for when I'm not home. But Bella didn't eat either!
This isn't good habit.... they both ate once they settled down..... Sunny has only had one more hacking spell over he last 2 hours. I'll be calling my girl Judy our Vet to make a house call tomorrow. I really hope she can fit us in.
I'm so glad I'm home...I didn't sleep at all last night worrying about Sunny....I would start to fall a sleep then I would jerk myself awake again. No more business trips for me when my girls needed me.....I DONT CARE IF I LOSE BUSINESS!!!
No money in the world is worth not being here for my girls!!!!!

How is Sunny doing?
Her fever seems to be gone today. I'll have to see if it climbs again tonight. She's been throwing up all day.
Right after she throws up she gets a drink. She ate her breakfast and has spent most of the day throwing up.
Vet says as long as she's still drinking and going pee we should be good until Monday. She's out of Provence and not returning until Monday.....I really don't want to take her to the Norfolk Brant emergency vet.....Everytime I've taken a pet there the vet has been wrong and we've lost our pet. The last one was a 3 yr old cat Baby, he suffered for 3 days before the vet said I was right and he had to be put down......
Right now Sunny is resting. My Vet said with Sunny being the runt that this could be a factor....Sunny stopped growing at 4 months. She's only 6lbs....she should have been 14 to 16 lbs.
I picked up some pumpkin hoping she will eat some....I'm boiling some chicken breast for her to purée with the pumpkin.

Who's up by London Ontario? Is there a good pet emergency hospital? Sorry I can't remember....I'm just sick with worry

Sweety, when my beautiful WatchCat was so ill and there was no hope...I took my baby there, and although there was nothing that they could do, they were supportive and loving and kind, and they supported us through our choices. My baby died in my arms, but she died without pain, without further suffering. They are good people!

Honey, I will give you my private info by PM...obviously, I am in London, and I will do what I can to support you in anything you choose to do. Big shoulders...I can carry some tears.

Hoping...praying that Sunny is OK.

Oh, and my sister is nursing through an 18 year old calico cat with multiple health issues. The cat's family travels abroad a great deal and my sister has been their rescue and support, nursing their old girl through multiple infections and health issues. When she won't eat, Maxine tempts her with salmon juice from sockeye salmon and heavy creams to get her weight up. She persists and the old girl puts her through her paces, but always goes home a little healthier. Obviously, every health crisis is different, but, if she's throwing up then perhaps a little salt (sockeye salmon juice) would help change the profile. Just a Thought. Every case if different; however, when you entertain an emergency vet's service, often you are coming to the last step of the five phases of acceptance. It's just...when it is diarrhea and vomit, you are losing a lot of fluid and without the salt, you are losing the ability to keep your hydration up. So...just a thought, maybe it doesn't pertain to your situation.

Sweety...they own our hearts. My baby girl is still with me...she'll be with me forever. Jon has orders to bury me with my beloved pets (notwithstanding legal issues.) And when I cross the rainbow bridge, my greatest hope is that I will see them all again.

I’ve spent 3 hours at the vets hospital.... no blockage thank God! I really that she had one. X-rays show nothing abnormal. Blood work come back very low on electrolytes and potassium.... so low that because Sunny didn’t seem at deaths door the vet ran the tests again. Same results. I’m at my office now.... Doc has Sunny on IV with pump.
I’ll go back to see her at 7:30 - 8:00
I’ve been away from Sunny for 2 hrs now.... I called to see... they have her on the IV now and she’s resting.
The Vet thinks that what ever made Sunny sick on Monday would be gone now..... but she said sometimes when dogs have been throwing up as badly as she has that they have a very hard time keeping anything down because their stomach is hyper sensitive. I hope she’s right

Sunny slept threw the night. We see her dr this morning for more blood work. I’m thinking she maybe got into some chocolate.
That’s the only thing we can think of that would have made her so sick.
She still isn’t up to herself yet so she may need more IV

My girl has never expressed any interest in chocolate, but some animals have a real sweet tooth. Did you notice a cookie or chocolate bar missing? Obviously, someone could have thrown it or any noxious thing into your yard and Sunny could have found it. It just tears at the heart not knowing for sure.

I truly pray for a full recovery for little Sunny.

Did you come to the Emerg Vet in London? If you need a place to crash if she is there and needs treatment, I'll get a room straightened up for you. You just have to disregard the goober that appears to be everywhere. (Oh yeah, I forgot...you are Mastiff approved: Goober doesn't bother you.)

Ok so the dr decided to not keep her in the hospital today for IV, I guess Sunny wouldn't rest /sleep at all yesterday. She also of course wouldn't eat there yesterday either. So I working from home for Sunny, she's eating and drinking well. I take her back for more blood work on Tuesday.

She's still not her spunky self yet. But she's not letting me out of her sight. (To be expected)

The doc believes Sunnys illness is from fried chicken wings. Sunnys pancreas was acting up.....Doc says they see this with too much fatty foods.

And since we had our annual fryer night here on Sunday with 40 people....well lots of people like to sneak Sunny bites of this and that....even with me telling them no that Sunny can't handle "extra" anything.

Next year if we do this fryer party night again I'll either keep Sunny attached to me at all times or will lock her in our bedroom. I never ever want to see Sunny go threw anything like this again!

i would agree that pancreatitis is "no joke" , i lost a completely healthy dog to it ............ i have tried aspirin before , ascriptin , was careful only to give it with food , never had much luck , it trashed their stomachs anytime i remember using it ........
