Sport/Activities to do with my Old English

I am new to the Mastiff family. I have recently added 2 beautiful little girls to our family and I wanted to find out what activities English owners do with their four legged family members. I have thought bout doing competition obedience as that is not incredibly hard on their joints while being a good solid activity. I know its not as demanding as agility, not to mention I have trained other dogs in agility and I have not seen a lot of the obstacles in agility be able to accommodate even a small English. Are there any other dog sports which I can work and train, cause I firmly believe training helps mold and solidify a fantastic bond and relationship with any family member. Thank you

Welcome aboard~ How old are the 2 young ladies? Do you have pics? I'm sure others will post replies re: sports/activities. Did you search the forum for activities? There are a couple of hard core working dog people on the forum. Ron Ackerman, Cody, and KristinandCianna (the ones that come to mind) do a lot of activities with their pups but they are not EM's but I believe it would be the same activities. Do a search for their names and look at their previous posts.

Hope that helps!

I had planned to put Kryten into carting. You can also do weight pulling, just be careful not to try too much weight before they are done growing.

I plan on getting Denna into carting, also.

That, and I think we'll try a nose-work class here soon.

I basically just scan all the available group classes in the area and pick and choose one or two a year. That keeps us getting out and socializing and learning new stuff.

I did an intro to agility class with our bulldog/boxer a few years ago. That was a blast! (even after he pee'd on the tunnel  ). It was a great bonding experience for us - especially since we adopted him when he was a year old, and hew was pretty hard headed...

I have seen people talk about carting and tried looking it up but have not found any thing very descriptive. I have done agility in the past with one of my other puppies a long time ago, she was a golden and it was a blast. I wanted to find a good activity to help build a bond between me and the girls, cause I tend to travel a lot for work. Sorry still learning how to use the post inserts to add pics, accidentily doubled up on some. The girls at their best. Kitty is 8.5 and Barley is 5.5. Sisters who share the same dad.
