Oh my goodness! Glad to hear she is ok now. :) What kind of toad? I am curious because I have an abundance of toads/frogs when it rains and although they have never eaten them, they have put them in thier mouth. It is impossible to avoid them.

Most toads have hallucinogenic toxins ranging from very mild to deadly. I did not really understand that even when watching that stupid Beavis and Butthead toon where they licked the toad to get high. But last year someone mentioned it to me again so I looked and was pretty shocked to find that some here in California (Colorado Toad) are pretty strong. One note I keep in mind is any toad or frog that is very brightly colored should not be handled without gloves on.

Wonderful news and congrats!

Kris, I would check with your vet and see if there're any in your area. Every time that I have had a dog that has had seizures the first thing the vet ask is if they had gotten a hold of a frog/toad.

we do not know the type of toad. it was a quick little game she played.
handler stated, he saw the toad only when a leg was hanging out of her mouth!
he attempted to remove it and she swallowed it whole, little shit. so, he took
her to the emer. vet immediately. crazy!
