I've have the new boy home for about 10 days and he and my 1 yr old girl are getting along well. Almost too well. If i let them out of the crate for some in house playtime they can't stop wrestling around for two seconds. It's not the least but violent or aggressive. I haven't heard a single yelp or growl from either. My question is....how long will this go on if I don't keep separating them?

Again it's both playing fair switching dominant and submissive roles and just generally having fun. I assume this is also establishing pack structure so I don't want to disrupt the natural order of things either...

It will also help teach the puppy bite inhibition and burn off a ton of puppy energy which is a good thing. I'd let them play as long and as often as they wanted as long as it's friendly play and in an area that is ok to play in. Just like Human kids they will play until they are too tired and then usually take a nap. My EM Buddha who is 37 weeks now will run around playing until he is too tired, then he will lay down and as long as he can lift his head he will try to play LOL It's funny seeing two tired EM Puppies laying down next to each other head wrestling. LOL

Yea their just burning off some zoomzoom is all. If it dont hurt let em play. If it becomes an issue you would likely need to exercise the dogs till they were just wore out

I agree with the other posters playing is great as long as neither gets serious. One thing you might want to make sure you do though is to spend one on one time with the puppy without your other dog around once a day doing training, playing or just chilling. The purpose being that you ensure the dog bonds to you too. If the puppy spend all his time with your other dog there is a good possibility he will ignore you in favor of your other dog because that's who he will see as being the most fun to be with.

Nope.
We have holes in our basement wall from our 2 who are 3 and 19 months...
Those are after we run the snot our of them as well. Lol.
They stop when they are tired, we try to keep it to a minimum in the house, but when it is -20 out it is hard to get them out to run for long.
We do restrict the wrestling to the basement however. Larger open space and carpeting so less worry of slipping.

Stella and Sampson would play endlessly when we first got Stella. Now she is 7.5 months and they are actually very calm in the house and they rarely wrestle. The only issues we have now are disputes over toy possession, but even that is improving. A lot of it has to do with the fact that Sampson is lazy and doesn't really have much interest in playing with Stella (especially since she can now overpower him and out run him).
