Red Goopy Eyes?

My boy is a little over 10 weeks old and for the past couple days has had red goopy eyes. He has a doctors appt on the 22nd. Does anyone have any experience with this? He just got done having kennel cough (2 days of taking antibiotics left and the cough is gone) due to his ground transportation to me. Imagine a air controlled eighteen wheeler lined on the inside with kennels and puppy's for deliveries.

Could be allergies. I was just in the vet today for allergy related stuffs. His eyes looks irritated for sures. What are you feeding? I'm sure the vet will have a good idea what's going on. You can try Benadryl Allergy @ 1mg per 1lb of body weight up to a max of 50 mg/day. See if that helps maybe until you get into the vets office. Be sure you use only allergy formula, NOT with additional ingredients for cold and flu or like pain relievers or decongestants.

I'm feeding him Blue Buffalo grain free. Not the chicken flavored one. Though he's has a wide assortment of treats, a couple which do have chicken. He's had milk bones, bully sticks, raw hide, nylabones etc.... I'm hoping that's what it is and nothing serious. He seems to be acting ok and not in pain, though he will paw at his eyes right after he wakes up. I will definitely try the Benadryl and thanks for warning and the suggestion.

He is so cute! Even with a bit of eye goop!

Our DDB is allergic to chicken and grains...and it seems to be pretty common with mastiffs. She didn't do well on Blue Buffalo, and the Milk Bones have grains, so they were a nope for her.

Benedryl is great for symptom relief, but for sure you'll want to try to track the trigger.
