we still don't leave ours out with the big boys yet for fear of her becoming a snack;)- they all seem to love her when we're around, but no so big a fan when they don't think we can see;)

congratulations and enjoy the puppy smell!

Yeah. Athena does okay unless she thinks he has some food. Then she wants to kill him. Looks like we have a lot of work to do with her. Hopefully we can keep him alive long enough to get as big as her.

Every time I see a super cute puppy on this forum, I think it's the cutest one I've ever seen.

And then there's this fluff-ball of cuteness... (and I'm not even a fluffy-dog kind of person). *Sigh* It's too much!

What is his name?

Yes, they are super cute when they are fluff balls.

His name is D'Argo. Or Pain in the Ass depending on what he's doing.

I so miss puppy breath!!!

yes, pain in the ass.
LOL
Just admit you're a masochist, pull that piece of fur out of your coffee & don't miss a beat!

Just a couple of my own observations having raised ours exactly one year apart in age.

1) Thats normal, esecially if its high value food or toy. We feed our seperately if its high value, otherwise the Alpha misbehaves...

2) She will probably bully him up until 8 months. He will go along with it or hide until he is big enough to do something about it, then they might have it out. Watch for it, and make sure they don't hurt each other. The first time it happened to us, I split them up, the second time I caught it too late and the bully was on his back (unhurt) saying, yes sir to the new Alpha.

3) Girls (in this breed anyway) are smarter than the boys. They will never forget! With the boys its kinda over 5 minutes later. The girls may wait 5 months before they find an opportunity for revenge, and then a sneak attack.

4) I bet they will be the best of friends. The boys kinda like to be bossed around by the girls, as long as it's not too much.

I bet he looks like Helena, his grandma, when he get older. Kristina at Sierras owns her.

Thanks.

I have been feeding them separately. Athena is already better with toys and treats. She still guards her own food. I hope we can get through that but if not, I think it will be manageable. We'll just keep feeding them apart. She doesn't do any resource guarding with people so that's good.

I was figuring that once he was big enough they would sort things out on their own. Right now, D'Argo just turns and looks away if she glares at him. Her reactions have become much more reasonable. I'm okay with her warning him about stuff.

Is Chompi home yet or is he still with Denise? D'Argo was really sad the first night. We put a crate in our bedroom and he's been a lot better. Athena sleeps in there too so he has company. It's weird how different he is from Athena. I think he's going to be a lot more destructive. o_O
He is a lot better about following us around though. He's almost always on my shoes.

I'll have to look up Helena, I'm not sure what she looks like.

It sounds like you know what to do with the food/toys.

I also agree it's best to let them sort our squabbles, just as long as they don't get hurt. A boy girl combo especially so.

We did have one scare once when they were playing, Oso, our black and tan got his tooth caught in Kyi's collar and twisted the collar so that it was strangling Kyi trying to free his tooth. Poor Kyi fell over and stopped breathing while I tried to work a knife under the collar to free them. When I finally did I thought he was gone, but was able to get him going again with mouth to nose. We take collars off now as soon as they come home from walk

Chompi is still at Denise's. We have not yet made a decision on him for his forever home.

Sasha is the most affectionate of the TM's. Our big red boy is too, they are very un-TM like in this respect. Sasha also does not like being away from us, and always needs to know where we are. I think this litter will be like that too, Leeloo is also extremely affectionate, so I think you are well on to your way to a 140 pound lap dog.

Yes, Leeloo is super sweet. I can't get over how much he seems to like us. Even as a young puppy, Athena wasn't all that interested in staying near us. It will be interesting to see how he turns out as an adult. We had a puppy socializing party today. D'Argo did great. He loved everybody and then passed out. He's still asleep.

The picture of him sitting on the dishwasher door, so cute! So tiny! Enjoy it, he won't stay that small long!

Ok Broccolini--fess up--you MUST have a housekeeper cuz those damn floors are too clean for 2 pooches.
And the pooches don't have a speck of dirt on them either.
How exactly is that possible?

And you can save energy by not using the dishwasher, you have a volunteer right there.

Last night while I was sleeping, Tessa brought a piece (read:log) of driftwood into bed & I woke up to the alarm, chunks of wood, & a dog who's head was on my pillow & just couldn't be bothered to get out of bed...

I've trained the dogs to use a mop.
