Pulling

Hello, I am a new mommy of a boerboel (BB) and would like some advice on getting him into pulling. I do not have a very big yard so I am trying to find ways to keep him active physically and mentally. I found that pulling and weight training for BBs to be an effective exercise for what I'm looking for. When is a good time to get them into pulling? Odin, my BB is 17 weeks old. Does anyone have any advice on pulling for beginners? Thank you!<br>

I would start with just having him wear the harness around the house to get him used to and comfortable with the harness. Then, I would attach a milk jug or something small for him to pull around and get used to the idea of having weight behind him. People often put rocks or something into the milk jug to add some weight to it.

I use logging chains of various sizes. Also if you live in an area where they use big loaders to clear snow you can check with the places that maintain the fleet and ask for old tire chain cross links. They usually give them away free.
