IMO--if the behavior regressed & pooch is becoming untrustworthy---YES! use the crate when you have to.
Bump it back to 'baby steps'- It will probably only be temporary. Yes it sucks, & it takes up LOTS of space, but better than buying a new sofa, or whatever she's getting into.

FWIW--I still crate Tessa whenever I am not home-I feel awful about it, never had to do this with a pooch for this long, she'll be 15 months in April...
But she just isn't fully trustworthy yet. Still too much puppy boundary issues--or TM *stubborn* issues.

That being said--if I brought her to your house-she'd be an angel...
Take her to Petsmart, & she shows off & never steals anything.
She will show all kinds of manners mum never gets!!!

Just like a damn kid!
