Most times I still consider myself a kid even though I'm 26. This is why I am not married or have kids as I'm not ready for such things yet. I say you're not mentally an adult until at least 30. ;)

My mum's 54, and she's a smaller kid mentally than I am :p

E.G. Leaving chips under a towel on a chair for me to sit when we have company, is NOT funny, mom!

That's just good clean fun.

I'm 46 and last month I put shoe polish on my kid's microscope eyepiece as I packed it for her to take it to class. I thought the picture of her that her best friend showed with a black circle around her eye was hilarious.

For some reason she was not as amused. Kids these days, no sense of humour.

Interestingly enough, after that, she packed her own crap.

Sounds like something I might do later on in life to my kids! Lol!! I love a good laugh

Possibly the three things that bother me the most are
1 - little men with big trucks and drive the road like they own it and they think they can bully everyone!
2 - people who won't stfu about themselves
3 - people who buy animals and don't give it the proper care they need and they won't rehome them and they want more animals and they would ask their family members if they'll take so and so to make room for new animals!

That is ridiculous.

I feel like I'm pounding my head into a wall. They're not even asking WHY he's intact. Its "I'm sorry we won't adopt to homes with an intact animal" period. My CAT is spayed. I'm not trying to "rescue" an intact cat. But they won't have adopt to me because Apollo is intact!

Some rescues don't know what a disservice they are doing to themselves with all the ridiculous rules they enforce. I get it but come on...you're passing up a great home just bc the dog is still intact.

Every decent rescue spays/neuters every animal before they allow them to be adopted. Now you all know how I feel about early neuter, BUT because these animals are already "fixed" the sexual status of the rest of the animals in the new home is a moot point. And if more rescues acknowledged that they'd have far fewer animals in need of homes.....

Unfortunately a lot of shelters/ rescues run under the mentality that a responsible pet owner will have all their pets fixed. The shelter I worked at had the same policy and we only made exceptions for show dogs. Occasionally if people seemed like good people and had a valid reason for not fixing their animal we would over look it but most of the time it was a no go :(

I'm not disagreeing with their policy as I understand it but it would just be more beneficial to their homeless animals if they allowed certain circumstances to be an exception to the rule. I'm sure there would have to be strict guidelines enforced in order to properly weed out the good over the bad which of course is more work but if it means less homeless animals why not? I think cats have it the worst bc there's just not a whole lot of people wanting to adopt adult cats. Which is sad bc they need loving homes too.

Smart, at least your shelter HAD that exception for show dogs. My local shelter FLAT OUT WILL NOT allow me to adopt from them while I have an intact pet.

I wouldn't mind answering questions about why he's intact. I wouldn't mind proving we show. But it becomes beyond rediculous when its an ALREADY SPAYED CAT that I've got my eye on.....
