Opinons: Is my boy is Dogo mix?

Hey all this is my first post in the forum, great to meet you all. My wife and I adopted our beautiful boy, Eggs -- don't ask, my wife likes to give animals silly names :) -- almost 4 years ago as a 4-month old. He was found as a stray at 2 months old and ended up at a rescue about 100 miles from where we live. Needless to say we fell in love with him the moment we saw him. Not that it really matters, but we've always been curious about what his breeding is because he's such a handsome fellow. We've long suspected that he's a dogo-mix, but have no way of really verifying. He bares such a striking resemblance to a dogo that were it not for his brindle patches, I'd be pretty convinced that he's a pure bred, which he obviously is not.Anyway, just wanted to get some opinions folks who know the breed. What do you guys think? The day we took him home

Wow, that is a very handsome Egg! :)

Looks like some mastiff in there somewhere, and Dogo would make sense with the coloring. I'm not an expert, though... hopefully some other Dogo people will chime in with some thoughts.

How would you describe his temperament? Good guardian instincts? Any prey-drive? Calm in the house? Well-bonded to family?

Oh, and Welcome to the forum!!

How tall is Eggs? He looks beautiful, btw, whatever his lineage!

Body structure does not look like Dogo but the white coat and nose does, he may have some Dogo in him

He certainly is beautiful! No help here on possible breeds though. Welcome to you and Egg(I like his name).

Hey all, thanks for the kind words about Eggs. He's certainly a special guy. I'll answer all the questions here in one reply. In terms of his temperament, he's a bit of a complex fellow. He's actually very sensitive, get's his feelings hurt and acts like a huge baby if he's in any pain whatsoever. He's very dog aggressive with dogs he doesn't know, but he's extremely loving and protective of dogs who are in his pack. He will also accept new dogs into his pack over a couple of weeks if my wife and I show him that's what we want. He's very bonded with us, but is also a huge people-dog. He loves all people and gets really excited to meet new folks, which probably makes him not a great guard dog. However there was one time fairly late at night when I was taking him out potty when a very shady-looking character was staring at us for an extended period of time. When he started to approach us, Eggs went completely nuts - snarling and growling, his hackles went up as well. Needless to say the guy turned around and went the other direction. I had never seen Eggs act that way toward person and haven't since. He's very calm around the house and is pretty much a huge couch-potato, although he does have spurts of craziness mostly when our French Bulldog, Omelette, wants him to play with her.His prey drive isn't too bad. We have a cat who he loves and he's been introduced to my father's cats without incident, but he LOVE LOVE LOVES to chase squirrels. He's never caught one, so I'm not sure what he would do if he ever did. But overall his prey drive is probably around a 5 out of 10.In terms of his stature, he weighs about 95 pounds, and as you can see in the pics, he's pretty tall. I'm 5'10" and when alert he's about hip-high at the top of his head.
