Opinion needed on new crate - looking at two options right now

My dogs' crates all stay up for the duration of their life. They like them an choose to nap in them often. It's a safe place where they can go and not be bothered. It's somewhere I can send them if they're being a bit too "helpful" and I need a minute or two. I particularly like them when we have people over that may not deal with dogs in a way that I like. If there's no interaction, they don't have a chance to do something to my dogs that will piss me off and make me ask them to leave. Win-win.

I crate Solo every day when I go to work. I had to rig it up a bit to insure he couldn't get out.

I crate my girls separately and am in the big debate with my hubby about it. He wants the crates down but I don't, and this current sprain and upcoming surgery are proving that having the crates is a good thing. Sometimes they need to be in their cave and chill.

Yep. Having a dog crate trained and one around whether u use it often or not is (in my opinion) a must have for any dog.

I used the tallest xpen to make a DIY crate for Bear. I made a roof and floor to attach to it and it worked great while I needed it. It was very large however and took up 1/4 of my office. I was very happy to take that thing down.

Well, I had the idea to make my own. I'm not what I would call a welder but I can mig weld wrought iron and sheet metal pretty good. I worked for a while doing security windows and also building waste oil tanks like for restaurants that had to be water tight and also secure. People actually try to steal the oil... Anyways, I thought it'd prob be to damn heavy to be practical. I never built one. I did however build my front gate.
