Congratulations on your new pup, please post pics when it's home with you! I saw your earlier post looking for book recommendations....it depends what sort of experience you have with dogs so far but to be honest, I think the "Dummies" series is very good basic information and you don't have to be a "Dummy" to get a lot out of those books.
And training really isn't breed-specific, certainly not at the basic level. Depending on the line and your individual pup training largely involves teaching self-control, channeling certain drives and socializing to create a calm puppy...whether a DDB or a JRT, the basics are pretty much the same. My other suggestion would be to look up obedience clubs and classes in your area and get signed up for group classes and puppy kindergarten for socializing and hands-on tips. I would classify myself as a very experienced dog person but I still get a lot out of classes (and books and other learning materials.) I have 30 years with Rottweilers, grew up with working Border collies and have put various titles and CH on several dogs and I still keep on learning. My EM pup did puppy K and is in basic obedience right now. I do it because it is inexpensive, fun and he enjoys it a lot although he is clearly not going to ever show up in the obedience ring.
