finnegan.jpgMy life never feels complete without a dane, and I had been feeling pretty lost since my last dane Dexter passed away unexpectedly in January. As fate would have it, we brought home Finnegan on Dexter's birthday. This little guy is 9 weeks old and his puppy antics are keeping us laughing and on our toes!

He is absolutely beautiful! Nice to see another Dane on here. I have a 15 month old Great dane (My first) and a 2 1/2 year old English Mastiff. Both males. Congrats! :)

Look at those FEET! Wow!

Denna and I ran into a few Danes at Marymoor (off-leash park) this past weekend. One was a BOUNCY 9 month old, having a BLAST! Danes are So Fun!!

Looking forward to more pictures of your new pup!

Thanks everyone! He is only 20lbs now, but I think he'll end up being the biggest Dane I've ever owned. I wanted a natural eared puppy, but after waiting 7 months to get a pet puppy from a reputable breeder, the opportunity came up to get a show puppy, hence the cropped ears. I've only had natural eared danes before, and this will definitely be my only cropped puppy. I can't wait for the stitches to come out next week, they are super itchy for him and its been a struggle to keep him from scratching them.

I considered getting Magnum's ears done but in the end decided to leave them natural and I am glad that I did. Can't wait to watch that little guy grow. :)

Love this little guy, last night he slept in his crate with minimal whining, and no accidents in the house so far today!

When I had a doberman long long ago and had his ears done, I took a sock and stuffed it then sewed it into a circle. Put it around his neck and it will help to keep him from kicking and pawing his ears.

Some new pictures of Finnegan and my Doberman, Hannah. Hannah is 65lbs, to give some perspective. Finn has all his sutures out and has moved on to posting, should take 6-8 months before his ears stand on their own.

Poor guy has kennel cough and has been taking it easy at home this past week. Perfect timing of course, as our Doberman had some complications with her heart condition at the same time. Now Finn doesn't have to be jealous that she gets meds because he has his own to take.

On a more positive note, he has put on over 10lbs in the month that I've had him and is still acting like a Tiny Terror even if he isn't very tiny many more. He was doing well with housebreaking, crate training, and some obedience training, although most of the training has taken a backseat now that he's under the weather.
