First of all I can't even begin to tell everyone how proud I am to be a part of this forum. I can be a bit of a cynic but boy have ya'll crushed that. I have been approached by many either with a message here in this thread or by PM with offers of help with the dog food or donating towards a gift card for Kroger's. Dawn, Franklin's mom doesn't have a car and Kroger's is the closest store, still a mile away, that she can walk to. I see three different ways we can go about this:
I can provide a link to Kroger's were you can purchase a gift card and they will mail it directly to Dawn. The only drawback to this is they charge 2.51 for each individual card they send out. If we all pool our money and get one card that would mean a little more of the money can go directly to Dawn.
I can provide a link to Walmart and you can have a 40 pound bag of Franklins dog food delivered to their door for about 30 dollars and that will last him about 2 weeks.
I can collect individual donations and we can get a Kroger's gift card. I think this would be great for those of us who only have 5 or 10 dollars this month to give. Plus, as I mentioned above it would decrease the 2.51 they are charging to send each gift card. I have a paypal account. However I don't know how to receive money through it but I'm sure someone on here can talk me through it or you can send it through the mail. My only problem with this method is transparency. Remember I'm the cynic. I have been fortunate enough to help a couple of regulars on this forum and I think they would be willing to vouch for my creditability.
You can PM me or Dawn to get her address if you choose to send your own. Below is the link to Kroger's gift cards. If you want the Walmart link let me know and I will go find it.
