Hello everyone! I’m new to this forum. I have a 7 month old English mastiff and she’s been having some issues with her stool. She was on Fromm large breed puppy but I recently slowly switched her to Orijen large breed puppy. Her stool was super soft on Fromm but after switching it has gotten much worse. I have a feeling it’s from the chicken. I was looking into switching to farmina, Stella & chewy, or acana. Does anyone have any suggestions on those? I’m also looking to switch to an all fish and wholesome grain formula. And do I need to look for a puppy specific formula or am I able to feed her an adult formula? Thank you I’m advance!!

Id swith her to adult food, they dont need puppy food. I cant comment on the foods youve mentioned as iv ever used them.im from the uk and use eden. I cant have anything with chicken in, my boys would have loose poos, hair loss and very itchy, i use lamb or beef.

We switched our 6 month old English Mastiff to a raw diet. He gets beef and chicken blend, beef pork and chicken blend, pure turkey and a blend of chicken and lamb. Occasionally we add raw fruit or veggie to it and add herring oil in his morning feed. Gus is thriving on this, eating 3- 1 pound feedings per day . He’s over 90 pounds now and doing well!

Make sure you get a fecal test. It is possible that is Ghiardia. It wouldn't hurt to test. I would also suggest that Mastiffs need to eat regular adult dog food for all the correct amounts of nutrients. They grow so quickly. I feed mine Diamond Natural Beef Meal. Another good one is Kirkland Chicken veges. Also A couple tablespoons of Pumpkin will help with the loose stool. Buy it at the grocery store. Canned Pumpkin. Hope that helps. I had to put my baby boy on Diamond Natural Beef Meal because he was allergic to Chicken when he was his age. He is 14 months and beginning to grow out of it.
