Vito "Crazy Eyes" Corleone (5 month old CC) passed his final exam for beginner obedience last night. Awww. So proud!
My husband and I are trying to figure out what to do next. PetSmart is a fun, low key place and Vito learned a fair bit there. I wasn't too crazy about the nutritional advice I was given (never ever ever go grain free.... which I am now) but the trainer seemed okay and we would wait for her next intermediate class to begin.
BUT, there is so much else out there!
I have found a few other places that offer classes but am unsure if we want to take it to the next, more serious, level. One was recommended to me by a dear friend. He said the people are quite stand-offish with other people but that the results are incredible.
I guess I really need to sit down and think about what we want for Vito and how far we plan on taking his training. I always thought we would take it all the way to advanced and then add some other things relevant to our family like a "find Xander" command. I don't think we would ever be competing in obedience events but I need him to be extremely reliable when it comes to commands.
I guess I'm wondering what you did with your dogs? What worked, what didn't? Any regrets as far? Did you keep it fun and light or get more serious?
