Just saying

I forgot to cook dinner tonight with all the breaking down of and repackaging all the meats and reorganizing the freezers. The dogs should be fine for at least a month. Now to tend to the poor hungry toddler. Lol

So, my rescue had her third BM this morning. First one to be fully formed and right color! Has anyone else ever done a happy dance at the sight of poop? LOL:lolbangtable:

Yes, my female had liquid diarrhea for almost a week and when it started coming out in nice bricks again my neighbors probably thought I was crazy for being so excited to pick up poop!

I've noticed 7 of the last 8 threads on raw feeding have been started by me:eek: Ummm....Total newbie syndrome and a huge thank you to all the members for being so tolerant and helpful.

Any of us feeding raw have done the same thing! Raw fed poop is so much smaller and less smelly than kibble poop - that along is cause for a happy dance with a dog the size of a mastiff! :D

I sometimes joke that I have 100 lbs of meat in the freezer for the dogs and a lonely package of Morningstar bean burgers for me.
Newbie syndrome means you care. ;)

Ah ... that would be me, too.

It suddenly dawned on me tonight, after a lovely bike ride which I planned to start along the river and end up at the butcher shop (for Mateo food, of course), that while my eyes were peeled for specials that I could stock up on - as well as carry on my bike- that I never think of myself when I look at meat anymore.

There were people there discussing what cuts would be best for their BBQ, et. al.....and all I could think about was what I needed to balance out what I already had stocked in the freezer.

For Mateo.

I may be obsessed. Just a little. ;)

Ha! Hubs travels A LOT during the summer so when he gets home next week to see the new and bigger freezer filled only with meat for the dogs he may be a bit surprised;) lol

We all do it and can all put our hand on our hearts and say our dogs eat better than us.

A few times now i've stocked up for max and gone hungry till pay day cos I've no money for people food. My freezer has 3 drawers, two for him, one for me, and he's slowly annexing my space with tripe etc.

Yeah I live alone and spend more money on food for the critters (dogs, cats, wild bird seed) than I do for myself.
On the subject of poop, has anyone else noticed that raw-fed poops don't attract flies? I do keep kibble on hand and the dogs get the occasional kibble meal. When I do my morning poop pick-up I notice flies all over the kibble poops, yuck. But never otherwise.

Haha- pretty much mirrored dinner at my house tonight:

Mateo: Fresh beef cuts, green tripe, chicken thighs, and bison heart.
Me: half a can of tuna, handful of potato chips.

So, so sad....
